I've never liked "reaching out" either, seems to be a stupid phrase to me. Didn't we have "touch base" before that? Not much better though. "Get in touch" - is a bit physical as is "contact" so what to use? We could state the method - telephone? Or write a letter? These days that would probably be changed to "lettering". We might "call" them but that doesn't really work too. Clearly we need a new word!

World Famous Gopher Museum.

my sister has just gone home after a brilliant 10 day visit. One of the highlights was visiting the most bizarre museum.

I was walking through Glasgow city centre the other day and I had to stop and marvel at what I was seeing... a BT van was parked outside a phone box and the BT operative was washing the booth, and then he emptied the coin box into the side of his van and replaced the coin box back into the phone box.

I had no idea that coin phone boxes were still a thing, or that they were maintained. It must be 25 years or more since I last used a phone box.

After a few month of job searching, 4 in person and 1 telephone interviews, resulting in 4 separate job offers, I have found a job that I think will be a good fit for me. So after 8 years at one place, tomorrow, I hand in my notice. Eek. It's quite nerve wracking.

Sorry. Pleased for us but sad for you.

I'm not actually bothered about Canada.
There's never even been a hint of them being my "second team" at any sport although I did cheer them on in an Olympic Ice Hockey final against the US once.


It's just a bit of a surprise for a team ranked 7th in the world and it was just a pun on the national anthem.

Good job Australia made it through. To keep up the interest levels.
