Daughter and her boyfriend are now ex's 😢 after 4 years, they sat down and talked and now they are over. Bizarrely my concern is who she will spend Christmas with. I know from experience waking up on your own on Christmas Day is sad.

when I asked if she would come back to Alberta she said good god no. She is applying for a promotion at work and also for trade school next year. If anyone in the Guelph area has a room for rent let me know!

Who else got the ‘sorry it’s over’ email from the Wolfpack today? Any plans to follow the Arrows?

Maybe there are some local zoom groups in her area?

I saw a topic in Vancouver where someone was trying to set up an alone for Christmas game time or something for those alone had somewhere and others to interact with.

Unprecedented line-ups in post offices; record numbers of stamps sold; 40% more stuff to deliver than the usual seasonal increase...

People overloading the system because they can't make visits, probably.

Then they should suspend Xpress Post and Priority service if they can't manage their load.

Oh well, lesson learned never use Canada Post.

It's gotten worse, now they estimate December 22.

They really screwed me over good.

Funny how the Amazon return only took 2 days to get Kelowna to Richmond for delivery, clearly see where priorities are for Canada Post, and it's not Xpress or Priority level mail, its parcels.

It probably won't get much better before January, either. In addition to the Covid-19 notice about delays that's been up since the onset, the seasonal Christmas delay notice is out as well.

My Express Post stuff is still going through pretty well, though I did have one from Kelowna to Regina take 6 days. If it sits in Kelowna for 2 days then sits for a day in Calgary that's all it takes.

Oh well live and learn. Always use Fedex for anything document wise.

They should just suspend Xpress Post and Priority service for the time being, because they are charging a premium for speed, and failing big time.

Basically wasted $15 stupidly thinking their estimate on day of shipping would be correct, if they were truthful and gave me an accurate estimate, I never would have sent it.

I figured Monday with a Thursday delivery would be fine, but apparently not, but now it will arrive too late, so oh well.

They should update their website as even today they still say 3 business days for xpress post.

They're very much a fashion accessory type thing these days, and have been for a few years.

I will admit to having one of the Expedition parka jackets. I think I got it in 2008 / 2009, and I just thought I'd look up the price, and they're $1395 before tax! That's just obscene. Mine was $610 before tax, which is still a heck of a lot to spend on a coat, but it wasn't done for a fashion statement, and knock on wood, it's still going strong.
Having said that, I don't wear it that much these days. I found out very quickly that you do indeed get toasty in it, too toasty in fact! Generally it has to be very, very cold before I wear it. I do not understand how people wear them and walk around a mall! If you have to take it off then it's not exactly the lightest of things to carry around with you.
I'm also sensible enough to have winter boots on with it too, so no wet feet for me either.
