Last orders for Bristol pub linked to Robinson Crusoe and Treasure Island
Drank in there many a time.Guardian says "The British hospitality company Whitbread owns the building and said it was being sold as a going concern"
Bristol Post says "Given that the council-owned building dates all the way back to 1664..." and "Leaseholders Whitbread"
Someone's a bit off. But who?

Interesting quote near the top of the Post article "Don't let Wetherspoon anywhere near it"

I thought Wetherspoon were shedding their bad image?

I'd be sad to know it was gone, even if the liklihood of drinking in there again was low. Still, there's always the Hatchet.

I hate pants shopping, so hard to find the size I need.
All my pants at home are 38x34 and fit, but every pair of work pants I have tried on at Marks that are the correct color, are too small at the waist. I dunno if 38x34 is smaller in Canada vs the US, but certainly not the same size lol.

Is the Trow not almost a copy of the Hatchet?
(or did you mean inside - in which case yes, different buildings, different layouts)

When you see those pics it's very similar.
Only if you approach from Denmark St (the angle in the pic) do you see that but it's only small in comparison. All the other angles - from when it was the old cinema or O2Academy - it could just as easily be the Hole in the Wall at Queen Sq.

If you approach it from any way but Denmark st, you're too close to look up and see it.
That aside, it just doesn't look as old as the Llandoger. I think it's the low level windows. Perhaps it's just me.

switchboard).. and went to THITW with a guy called Danny G who worked at the advertising agency across the square .. we used to sink the best part of a bottle of Jamiesons between us.. happy memories, I was totally smitten with him.. He wore black corduroy suits and white cheesecloth shirts and used Aramis aftershave, despite having a little bit of a beard.. and he smoked skinny cigars.

That just took me back ohhhhhhh more than 40 years!
