Barbeques, I naffing hate them. Also when did they replace picnics? Picnics take effort, you have to go somewhere, you serve little sandwiches, maybe a decent quiche, mini sausages rolls and lovely salad washed down with a nice Chablis or a bottle of Champagne if you’re pushing the boat out. But barbeques are just such lazy affairs (sun's out so round to ours at six and we’ll have a barbeque). You drink horrible supermarket beer and eat petit bourgeois sausages and dress as if you're cleaning out the garage.

We had a new kitchen fitted during the renovation, and were offered a "gift": iPhone, BBQ, or "canine testicle" TV.
OH wanted the BBQ, I figured that I had to move country to get rid of the last one, so I gave her my best 'over my dead body' look.
After a long stare back, she said "we'll take the TV". On the way home, I said there's space in your room and it's cabled for it.

Five months later she sold the still boxed TV.

Shouldn't these last few posts be in B_UK's food thread?
Talking of hybrid cheeses, my Mother used to work for the UK Milk Marketing Board. Back in the early '80' she used to bring back samples of proposed hybrid cheeses. Some were good & made it to market, some less so & didn't.

You need a good gas barbeque, some lobster tails to cook beautifully with lemon, garlic and paprika on one barbeque plate, while whipping up a cheeky little dish of fresh asparagus with sesame on the other plate. A garden salad, some crusty bread, g&ts and an inviting pool to jump into when you've finished scoffing - what could be better? No cleaning out the garage clothes either, swimsuits are all you need. You're welcome

I often have periods of time where there is no memory, one reason why it's so hard to learn in school, physically there but brain is off in la la land, and hours of sitting in a classroom with nothing remembered....

Lived 99 years and never knew most of her organs were opposite side of where they should have been.

Apparently its rare for people with this condition to live a long life.
Modern medicine and some luck on this mans side.
