Lesson learned dont tell employer or potential one about any mental health struggles.

The doctor feels the stress of working would not be worth any benefit. But she is only taking into account my slip into a deep depression which is related to not working in something I like and being incredibly bored which brings me down further.

This is where having a therapist would be beneficial. A GP cannot adequately treat borderline and so they focus on the depression which is about the only aspect a GP can possibly treat but as borderline depression isnt typically responsive to medications not much they can do there either.

Nothing I can do from my end at this point.

I'm not sure they can a) require that without a job offer, nor b) not employ you without it - that would contravene your human rights... discrimination in the workplace.

I agree, until you have a written job offer or are actually employed I wouldn't mention anything to any employer - and then only if you need them to change things to accommodate your needs.

I only told them in an attempt to get hired back to explain the sudden departure.

Nornally I dont tell employers at all. Just trying to get a job back I enjoyed.

They didnt do anything to cause my departure so the company did no wrong and well companies have no obligation to hire back people who quit.

The DBT program is 6 months. Before funding cuts it was at one point 12 months.

12 mos is the minimum the creators of DBT intended.

But better then the 4 week program in another city I lived in.

Not many 1 year programs left in Canada. I think ON might still have one.

A big part of the problem stems from boredom. Vancouver isnt exactly full of free fun entertaining things to do...lol...

Depression I have learned is not the corret term for the feelings of empty and numbness and emptiness that I feel.

Its Hypo-arousal and no medication can fix it. Explains why anti depressants have never worked for me.

I hate this building and to think people pay 600 to 800k to buy here.

Got home and fob system is down.

Nobody can get their car in or out. Cannot get to our units or leave our units as elevators are not working.

Stuck in lobby with frozen foods and so pissed off.

I hate apartment living. There are no positives to this BS.

Why do they permit buildings to be built with no access via stairs except to exit?

People have been stuck for 2 hours now without access to their unit.

Guess my ice cream will melt.

Keys dont fail fobs and electronics do why is there no key access?

Dog is stuck up in the apartment.

@ Jsmth321

Do you really trust in your doc?

Reason for asking is that I was diagnosed with 'burn out' about 12 years back and was put on 100% disability for a few months. My employers started to kick when I said that I would be taking a vacation, and my doc responded directly to them quite emphatically that it was his call, and he had decided that yes, I could take some time off.

My point being having trust in your doc, this is to me a must have.

He wasn't shouting 'Donald' by any chance? Happened a few nights ago here around 2.00 am. Calling 'Donald' as if he was calling after his dog but then it would be the most violent/aggressive snarling of Donald! I wasn't sure if he was calling for a dog or if he'd been locked out and Donald wasn't answering.

His language and the aggressive way he shouted was so strong (mo-fo etc) I half expected gunfire. He drifted away after about 15 minutes.

I can understand why pilots may lie about mental health issues, nobody wants to lose their career and livelihood and at almost 40, would be difficult to maintain the same lifestyle starting over in a new career, but prison seems like it would be even worse, rather lose my job and tell the truth vs lying on a government form.

If you have mental health concerns just have to accept certain jobs are off limits.

FAA is comparing VA medical records to FAA medical forms to catch pilots who have lied.

Piff Poff - what's this about a '59 Beetle, in your signature? No, I'm not in the market for it, but my second car was a '59 Beetle, and my heart goes all piff-poff at the very thought of one. Was that the first model with the wide back-window? I forget. I bought mine in '61, I think; in those days we used to beep at each other when we passed on the road. This was in Queensland, Australia. Then when I left for Europe I bought a Beetle in Hamburg - a crash-gearbox of I don't know what year - and it took me all over. And in Mexico City in the later '90s all (?) half (?) the taxis were Beetles. Ahhh. At my age, I'm allowed to say with feeling, "They don't make them like that any more!"

Hi Gordon, it does have a bigger back window, but to be honest it's so long since I've seen it revealed I couldn't tell you much else! Hubby bought it when he was on a gotta have everything that comes up for sale phase with the intention of putting it back together. He went mad and bought too much stuff. Neither of us are too enamoured with beetles so it's one that we are not worried about being rehomed.

Just watching old episodes of ‘Only Fools and Horses’ mainly because I was on the phone to my mother for 2 hours this morning and the home sickness has kicked in for a bit.

shocked to hear Uncle Arthur refer to the local store as the ‘Pak* store’ guessing this was in the 1980s it was acceptable back then??? Even as a kid in the 90s I was always under the impression it was not a word to use
