I checked gasbuddy and it went up .07 at Regina Cabs from 83.9 to 90.9 (cheapest in town). I filled up in Oliver yesterday at 1.06 and that's unchanged. Dirt cheap.

Hope the smoke goes away soon.
I think a person needs about 3 jobs to survive in Vancouver.
Upside is when someone is in need of mental health, it's more accessible vs Fraser Valley where it's pretty substandard and not available 24/7.

We have loads of 'microsurfacing' going on around the city right now. They've been at it for weeks with repeated advisories about delays and all the rest of it.
But why not just 'resurfacing' or repairing whenever it's announced.
I looked it up and saw something about two types both of which involved slurry and were really not that different sounding.
But we don't need to know the technicalities of production methods, just that there will be delays due to new surface being laid. Resurfacing.

Nice work if you can get it - part37
David Davis linked to City trader fined for insider dealing
David Davis, MP and Brexit Secretary of State receives £34,000 for 6 days work per year from a company soon after it was bought by 'a friend' who was found guilty of "market abuse" and received one of the biggest fines ever such was the scale of his offending.
The friend was also a financial backer of Davis' Tory leadership election campaign so, of course, Davis is backing him in his appeal.

I did a 23.5 hour day yesterday, thankfully it wasn't all at work, only 17 hours of it was at work, the rest was commuting time, and some time off between the 2 shifts.
Not sure I'll do that again anytime soon...
Some of the 20 year olds worked straight through from 4am Saturday to 1am Sunday.
It was not forced, we are just short staffed due to some people quitting without much notice, even if they give 2 weeks notice, it takes 3 1/2 weeks to train someone before they can work out with us on the ramp.
Not overtime though, we are covered by an averaging agreement and scheduled in a way where the company makes sure we don't end up having to be paid at over-time rates.

I couldn't handle that.
8 until 8, with an hour for lunch and 30 minutes before the final 3 hours was my longest.
I did do it for 6 weeks running including 8hr days Sat/Sun (but not Friday nights) raising money to pay off the bank loan that funded my Canada visit in 1975.

Up until I retired I was working 8 hours shifts then on call for the next 8. It's not unusual.

Luckily this isn't a regular occurrence for me.
My 10.5 hour days are long enough (only 9.5 paid.)
Now the fact we take our "lunch" break at 6am or 7am is not the most fun though, its too early in the shift, but flight schedules dictate our schedules.
