Why do developers think condo dwellers don't eat? They put in a built in fridge and freezer but not full size, size of a bar fridge and freezer which requires going to the store several times a week vs once a week, a pain really.

Those undercounter fridges are pretty standard in Britain and my huge fridge fre here is mostly half empty

I daresay that we could put the fridge stuff all in one (though not the freezer things) but we'd be taking a lot out just to get something further back. That's a recipe for irritation or not bothering and then forgetting about it until you discover it's well past its date and you have to throw it out. Or even buying something you already have that's out of sight.

First world problems. :o


But a water melon would occupy half the space. If you could get one in.

Having said all that, we could certainly manage with less but when it's stiflingly hot and humid out or a ton of snow/frostbite weather, it's nice to know you don't have to walk/wait for a bus or taxi because you're well stocked. :nod:

The fridge here is some German brand, looking online it retails in the US for $1500 so it's small but not cheap.

You can get a larger more traditional fridge cheaper at Costco, for under 1,000.

I can't work up any sympathy for you living in a small space. I loved my studio flat back in London and I was happy to buy food a few of times a week . The fridge was even smaller than an under the counter one. I shop every few days now and I've found I spend less that way.

We do get used to living in larger spaces though. Our last house back in the old country was exactly the same layout and size as the house my family had when we were kids. Plenty of room for a family then but now it's a one person sized space.
