How did I not answer that when I said Obviously not as "good" (unhealthy) as deep fried chips in my comment?

We don't have kids. Never really felt I missed out but it might be nice to have grandchildren.

There was a time I was the only brother without kids. The other three had 2,1 and 3 (and a grandson). Then suddenly there was an 11 year old and a 13 year old.

I have some grandchildren. I'm to meet them in May. I expect that to be odd.

We've been having a bit of a clear out, including a ton of old UK VHS tapes that I've never been able to play here. I shipped them along with a VHS machine, completely forgetting the TV wouldn't recognise them.

I knew I could get other equipment but something always got in the way every time I looked to get it and eventually I gave up. I've replaced a fair amount of stuff with DVDs and saved downloads.

Anyway, at the bottom of one of the boxes of tapes was a photo album that I assumed went missing in 2005 along with Madonna's Sex book and an Egyptian desk blotter thingy (part of a desk set souvenir) between Bristol and Moncton.

I thought those photos had gone forever.

The Madonna book was there too but no other half of desk set. There is renewed hope that it may be in a box of LPs, similarly on the bottom and out of sight. :fingerscrossed:

That's what happens when someone puts my Mum's luggage too far back in the hold.

Ikea stuff is getting worse and worse.

They also have poor customer service.

Don’t do it. IKEA is for those people who have lost all imagination and creativity and have a dearth of spirit. It's a suffocating and evil place that smells funny and their stuff will corrupt your soul.

That said, their clippy things are rather good for sealing fish bags and their plastic trays hold lots of fishing bits and bobs. Although I do get Dumpster Bill to perform a bit of an exorcism on the stuff. Apparently he’s a shaman.

What happened?

We now have a pick-up point here. The website said $55 to have it delivered there.

I played with an order a few weeks ago. It was something like $110 to have it delivered to home but actually $75 to have it delivered to the pick-up point. Why the difference?

I don't drive, there's no bus there so it would be a taxi both ways at around $40 if there was no waiting time.

Cheaper to have it home delivered.

We built a wardrobe and followed the directions exactly, and when we stood it up, it literally collapsed like a deck of cards, double checked the directions after and found nowhere that we skipped or missed.

We will try tomorrow. No car today. We did call, best answer was bring it in, they will examine it, and determine if a refund can be processed.
