Man I have trouble posting links on this site! Google 'in defence of don cherry' - I think the young writer makes a good unbiased appraisal of him. As he says, whether you like him or not, he's incapable of telling a lie. And btw, before you call anyone a racist look up phenotype, I did and my literacy is improved for it. Just because he didn't like the league being flooded with European players doesn't necessarily make him a racist.

He's not that much different to the British personality Jimmy Saville with his outlandish clothes and hair. Don Cherry's mode of dress is just a wind-up and makes him tons of money. Outside his clothing he is a very knowledgable ice hockey man. He, like Saville, does a great deal of work for charity and I believe is a good person. You all need to get off your high horses. If you don't like/approve of him then don't watch him.
Unlike Saville I've never heard of Cherry being accused of any sexual perversions.

Not that I'd want to be stuck in an elevator with him.......
