Quebec Racists

My (French) Quebecker friend tells me that he and his wife have been treated very badly by French people in France. Kinda like the way we look down our noses at our colonial cousins.
It's funny to hear him going on about "les f***ing French ba$tards"

They didnt play all the Audio, and did not say the guys were Asian on the radio.
At first glance it looks like a drunken rant. Not great though if you are on holiday and that happens ehh?

I had a francophone father-in-law, he was violently prejudiced against people living in Quebec, he thought they were all Petainists. I thought that a bit rich for a man who lived in Switzerland.

I did find it rather fascinating that the attempted assassination of the premier-elect of Québec was all over the news in the US but barely mentioned here in Alberta.
Which gives you an idea of how much of a shit people in western Canada give about Québec.

The raison d'etre of the Reform party - to govern Canada in Alberta's best interests rather than Quebec's.

The difference is that the Reform parts became the government under the guise of Harpers Conservatives

Can't make up my mind as to whether it is Canada's "nice" policy on everything or no-one caring.
Or... it might just be that US media dominates the world and the CBC et al just lead with whatever leads there, even when the story is in Québec!

I've been to Quebec 3 times for v short visits and apart from the idiot in Tim Hortons they were very nice to us. Even spoke English. Mind you USA Immigration peeps are nice to us too.
As for 'racism' that's rather an outmoded term. It's ethnicity or shared culture.
