Yep, pity you won't get to see it once it's finished unless the old road is still usable. Might have a good view though if they don't build up the sides too much.

Here's a view of the bridge from a different perspective. ;)

Kicking Horse Canyon New Park Bridge

A new picture every 30 minutes and you can go back in time to view images at different times during the construction as far back as the third of November last year.

If this is the case then I have new found respect for dbd33.:thumbsup:

The water here is glacial melt water and is about 1 or 2 degrees Celsius.:eek::eek::eek::eek:

You wouldn't drown here you'd freeze to death first.

dbd is very hardy, freezing temperatures mean nothing to him.

A photo I took... most of the pic is road, then there's window reflection, dead insects, the mountain is around the corner, the back of an ugly car and pickup, ... beauty of a pic  ;)

Hi All - we are in Canada on our annual trip, and this time it's a real recce and planning time - all things being equal it won't be too long now and we'll be living our Canada dream - so here are a few hot off the press pics taken in the last week. :D

1.Vancouver from the air as we came in to land
2.Me, enjoying all the legroom in First Class - we have friends who work for Air Canada - we were so spoilt!!!
3. Capilano Suspension Bridge - not my idea of fun, but I did it - walked accross there and back.
4. Totem Poles in Stanly Park - again - somebody beat me to it.
5. The view from said friends apartment at Yale Town, Vancouver. ( I want that one!)

Try being on it when there's a coachload of Korean students jumping up and down!!!! Just happened to me last month when I took my visitors from the UK there. It was the first time in 32 years I had ventured onto it. Never, never again

Yes it is lovely on the other side, and yes you do have to walk back across it again. That was my first and last time, but my OH has done it many times, as have my kids. Me, I'll go for coffee and wait for them next time!!

Hi Maple Leaf ..................... don't worry, the bridge is fine  & once you get to the other side you can walk around amongst the treetops. I took my friend who was visiting from the UK there in May & saw her loose control for the 1st time since I've known her :o ............... the photos at the other side of the bridge showing the aftermath of a storm & a bloody great tree falling on the bridge didn't help!!
