Hate to dissapoint you but you aren't a full Townie yet!

The first picture is Fairview Acres, just off Topsail Rd opposite the old Archbishop's Residence

Second is the harbour front just by Atlantic Place

Third the posh new houses east end nr Stavenger (love them but that east end problem again!)

4th Signal Hill

5th - you definetly win - a ship is a ship is a ship to me :)

Glad you liked the pics, they were all taken last summer...

Ok, so I cheated on the the Grizzly - Grinder & Cooler are rescued bears that are kept in an enclosure on Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver. Managed to take that picture by leaning over the fence...

As for black bears - they are very common, but you hardly see them. They are more afraid of you, then you are of them.

Its a beautiful area to walk to the dog especially along the beach. Jim and I have met so many wonderful people there. A few weeks ago, Hunter ran away from me and was lost for about 1/2 hour. The network of folks who owned dogs who helped me was just overwhelming. A young girl with a lab of her own finally found him, put him on a lease and came to find me. We eventually bumped into each other, but for someone to spend that much time....was very touching.....

Wonderful group of folks there. If you are coming down to dallas road to walk the dog, you should come to gonzales beach. Its a smaller beach when the dogs can run free from september to june. Its really a beautiful little beach with lots of nice folks. Bring a book and lunch and let the dog run free and enjoy the sunshine.....!

I loved your pics by the way.

went to the island last weekend. Was very impressed with Sidney by the sea. and also downtown Victoria. Loved Chinatown!
Victoria was actualy quite smaller than i expected. we had NO trouble finding our way around. people were very friendly and the food was great. Lots of sunshine the first day then lovely light drizzle the next. I enjoyed that.

That looks fantastic.

All the photos are great - it is nice to see "real" areas and not just post card stuff.

The moose photo was taken on the Bowron Lake in BC. There is a circuit of 11 lakes which you can canoe over 10 days, back country camping over night. We were on the final leg of our trip, absolutely knackered, when this enormous moose appeared in front of us! We had to paddle a long way out of our way to get past him:eek:
The bear pic (my avatar) was taken on the Cassiar highway in BC near a place called Stewart.

We'd not been in the house long and the grass was desperate for a cut.....little did OH realise the work involved in cutting a 1/3 acre of grass with a flymo LOL  A couple of weeks later we bought a neighbour's old John Deere ride-on for $400 and that was his favourite toy ;)

Thanx for those pics bananahammock.......bring back some nice memories of our six week BC stint in 2005. We were in Campbell River for 4 days with OH's brother and spent an hour at Elk Falls.....here are mine!! I must admit, it is scary $hit when you read that sign about clearing the area quickly when the sirens go off when they open up the dam (or something like that!!)

The last pic was looking over to Quadra Island from Campbell River

My 14yr old read that sign with trepidation , I like the tiny yellow sign right beside the falls warning you not to go any further.....Duh!! :D

Stopped for some fish & chips nearby & this seal was entertaining people (bit blurred)
