Hello.
Long time no post. Been busy in the Murray household as my OH lost his job and the only one earning is our 13 year old - she does a paper round. Canada's cool in many ways, but...I won't go there...... Husband's got another interview this afternoon and I'm busy applying for jobs for both of us. Thought I'd drop back into BE to see what was new and call in to see who is around for a cuppa. |

Re: The Pass Inn and Pass Out
not a cuppa that's for sure - pint sized glass of white wine for me thanks ............ the larger glass saves me getting up and coming back to the bar after each tiny wine glass !

I thought you might understand. Sh1t can happen anywhere, but we could've done with a clear run for a year, and Canadian employers do seem very cut throat. (Our limited experience before anyone starts throwing rocks at me.....oh, and be warned I am a big girl and I can throw the buggers back too.) The worst of it was that because he was working all hours and I was doing his admin for him, I couldn't get a job, so I've been out of the workplace for 12 months. Whinge over. We're getting plenty of interest so hopefully won't be long before we're both working. Then I'll have something else to moan about. I'll have a cuppa please as I'm busy doing resumes. I could get creative if I have anything else and add a few random qualifications. How's life with you? Oh, and could I have something to dunk too? Ta. |

Re: The Pass Inn and Pass Out
a friend of mine who owns a language school here recently got a CV that said "exceptionally good at multi-tasking" on it.
When in the actual person to person interview the CV writer was asked exactly what she meant she replied ........ "I'm a working mother and housewife- how much better can anybody be at multi-tasking than that ?" |

We've had crap times, but there are positives. Daughter's loving High School and doing well. Weather's great etc. But...I miss my family and mates back in England and the job situation stank. OH wants to stay here, although I'm tempted to buy a shack in Ecuador and live off the house equity. So not quite living the dream, but it's early days yet. OH definitely wants to stay but I am keen to buy a shack in Ecuador and live off the house equity. Daughter can be sold on ebay with the electrical goods. Resumes are good. Think I might add a conviction for worrying sheep into my OHs and perhaps I could suddenly get a degree in light dusting? I keep remembering that you're supposed to make yourself stand out after all. What's new with Sans and Lorna? I'm so out of touch. Just saw the multi tasking post. Hell, yes, that can go on too. ;) |
Re: The Pass Inn and Pass Out
go for the multi-tasking .......... sounds good - and let's be honest -how many of us actually do and can - read a book - follow a film - answer a phone call - drink - post on here all at the same time ........... AND still remember what we have to get through tomorrow.
it can't be any harder in an office !!!!!!!!! |
