I like prawn cocktail. No vol au vents for me though. Isn't that French for fart anyway?
Which reminds me of that chicken in cream sauce that M and S used to sell. Haven't had that for years. Sausage rolls, pork pie, finger rolls with salmon spread, egg mayo and ham, chicken legs, garlic bread and trifle. God rest her soul she thought this was a decent spread. Wasn't til I started working for a very posh hotel that I realised cheese and pineapples shoved in a silver spud weren't really the done thing... Dya think Kate will have a cheesy pineapple hedghog? |

my mum used to do catering for weddings (about as upscale as council estate weddings ever got) - the standard vol au vent fillings were prawn cocktail, that chicken in a white sauce (not MandS though!) and egg mayo.

As you can see the tributes are coming in fast and furious. This one is made out of luncheon meat and left over vegetables.

Re: Official thread: Royal Wedding.
Come to think of it, standard Canadian orange cheese will be perfect with pineapple chunks on a cocktail stick. Maybe we should send them a gift from the colonies.

I think the tent in the gardens befits the occasion, a boat is a little too nouveau riche
