New Fish and Chip shop!

Well there you go. There aren't many cod in Lake Ontario, so I think the plaice (dyswidt?) in Alberta must be a rip-off.

Same here. The halibut is always fresh and done in minutes, chips are shite but thats because they have crap potatoes in Canada. Stay away from the 'cod' on the west coast as its not really cod proper. Its ling or rock fish and quite fishy tasting.

We have a chippy in Edmonton called Brits. Not impressed, as it seems to suffer from the same problem as any other chippy I've come across here. i.e., skinny chips, cod (if it is cod) fillets that are half the size and thickness of what you get in the UK, and mushy peas that are too sweet and too wet. And oh for a Pukka pie.

Youre not a Yorkshireman are you
. There are actually connoisseurs of these things.
I have to admit that Pie and Peas (with mint sauce) is not one of the things I miss from my many years spent in Leeds.
