Hubby and our friend went tonight to the chippy! well lets just say it was over an hour wait for a take away, they were cooking one piece of fish at a time ! it was a joke, people who were waiting at tables for their dinner had been waiting for 90 mins, people where getting up and walking out!
They didnt have enough staff on which it such a shame, so we havent tasted the food yet as we wasnt going to wait over an hour for a take away!

Went on the first night, made the order, then was told 45 mins later that they didnt have any pies. They put us back to the end again. waited another 40 minutes food came out cold. Left...gave a break because it was the first night.
Went back 2 weeks later.....sat in restaraunt for 20 minutes!!!, nobody took order so left.
3rd times a charm??....NO. Decided to order out because ordering in wasnt working, there is a new sign stating that you may have to wait 45-55 minutes to get your food. Soooo ordered and left. Returned an HOUR later...still NOT ready. Came back 20 minutes later...guess what?....NO PIES!!!. Finally got food 2hours later. Food was nothing better than Joeys only or SEA also in Calgary. Being a Brit as are these folks, Fish and chips is a quick easy meal, the excuse here seems to be "its cooked fresh"...well it was in the UK, it takes 14 mins too cook fish, and less time to cook chips. Not sure what the problem is there, could have had great potential, but will never go back
Oh, DONT order the Steak & Kidney pies. They tell you they have them, so you order one, but then mysteriously they sell out and you have to wait another hour while they cook you the fish. WTF???
Emailed the owners.......got no reply. Seems a shame. Oh well of to McKEnzie Towne for SEA.

We went tonight at 5:00 p.m. (half an hour after it opened.
70% of the tables had people sat at them, one family had their food and there was a fair number of people sat down by the counter. We were told that there was a 45 min wait for "take out". We left.
We saw some friends outside and chatted to them. There was a constant stream of people going in and coming out 45 seconds later.
Doesn't bode well
Anyone taking bets on whether they'll still be open at Christmas? I might be tempted to put $100 on that.

I think the mush peas genuinely did contain pee
Are the owners paying you for that recommendation

I pity your UK experience if you count the shite they serve as equal (or even close) to UK Chips
No different on last friday
Service is F@@king appalling
If anyone wants to take your bet I'll half please. The dick 'cooking' was eating more than he was selling when I went in
Thats exactly what happened to mine half an hour after I'd tried eating it.

That's it then, I'm not going.

I had fish and chips last week at one of the places in the Eaton Centre food court (Dundas end). They were actually pretty good - especially the chips. The special was some dodgy sounding fish, but cod and chips was ok. Not worth a special trip but a decent alternative if in the mall.

We tried it out last night, quite expensive $43 for 3 lots of cod and chips with watery mushy peas and gravy....The fish wasn't as crispy as we would have liked the chips were nice....We ordered it as take out and we had to wait 20 minutes.
Probably won't go there again due to price and authenticity.

Duckworth's. On the Danforth, just east of Main. That's the whole story for fish and chips in Canada.

We have a chippy a few hundred metres away which does perfectly fine cod & chips for $9.
Just asking.

I suspect the distance away from the sea has an impact upon price. I phoned our local fish and chip shop at 5:30pm tonight to place our order, collected the food at 5:45pm and it cost me $18 for two medium Fi and Chi. Lovely!
