The Liberal Promises.

So was it a promise broken or a play on words which was amended.
The promise to bring in 25,000 refugees by 31 December 2015.
We have learnt today that only 10,000 will arrive by 31 December 2015. The other 15,000 by the end of February 2016.
Also to be noted that the Liberals promised the 25,000 would be Govt sponsored refugees but we also found out that 10,000 of these are in fact privately sponsored refugees.

"25000 refugees by end of year" - Disgraceful. Security risk.
"Refugees to arrive on a more gradual basis after appropriate vetting, checking, thorough arrangements etc" - Disgraceful. Broken promises.

When you eventually retire from IT work you might have a career in mind reading though in this case you would certainly be off the mark or you need more training. Im sure there is a rational explanation as to how you seem to think I am disappointed.Im just pointing out the promise made before the election didn't exactly work out as promised.

It shouldn't suprise me we only have to look at the Ontario liberals and their underestimating and overspending patterns. Its the same old story!
Let the debt begin!

The other slightly glossed over point to this to is the cost....Trudeau earmarked $100million to be able to achieve this during his campaign. The actual cost to achieve this............ $678million!!!

Ive never ever yet met or seen an elected politician or govt having trouble spending money that isn't coming from their own bank account or be accountable for any over budget spending they promised.
I don't think we will ever know the true cost as this will be ongoing for years.
with Ontariowe being almost 295 billion at least they can feel warm and fuzzy by helping out.
Should we help out absolutely but the cost cannot be infinite there has to be a cap at some stage.

an aside to the Syrian refugees that Canadians will support & feed for the longest yet to come - today, HRDC seniors government department has announced the 2016 increases to the Canadian OAS (old age pension) for those that qualify for the maximum amount. It will increase by $0.57/month, or yearly it works out to $6.84, which is approx 0.114%.

A few may quaify for GIS 'Guaranteed income supplement'
For those of you without gold plated pensions, investments, lots of cash, drawing the max CPP etc, isn't it good to know Canada is taking very good care of its seniors, on top of which many medical services & prescriptions will have to be paid for by seniors that are not covered by the province

When they do this BS it's like an insult. Raise the rates a reasonable amount that will actually cover the cost of price increases.
Provinces are not much better, been maybe close to 10 years now since the BC Liberals (not related to the Federal party) have raised disability rates and housing rates for disabled.
The BC Govt still thinks people can find housing for 375/month.
Lesson learned, do your best to get a gov't job and the nice retirement they offer....
