As someone desperate to leave the awful town of Barrow (as mentioned in previous posts) I was very relieved to hear the defense budget in particular the marine side isn't getting cut. Just hope he follows through on what he is saying.

My prediction on the 1st promise to be broken though there seems to be some confusion on how this promise is worded.
On the TrudeaMetre the promise is worded as this
Welcome 25,000 Syrian refugees through immediate government sponsorships with a $100 million investment by April 2016.
However it has widely been reported that he said he would promise to bring in the 25,000 by the end of 2015. This is being reported by CTV news in an exclusive interview airing this Saturday on W5
Justin Trudeau says he will deliver on his promise to bring 25,000 Syrian refugees to Canada by the end of 2015, in an exclusive television interview airing this Saturday on W5.
Trudeau spoke to CTV News Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme.

My bet is that 25,000 Syrian refugees don't arrive by the end of 2015.

If I worked in the military equioment/defence sector I wouldn't be looking to move to Canada.

Why is that? For us the move is a lifestyle choice rather than job..... well for me anyway my husband may not agree with that completely as his career is very important to him.

Expect more cuts in the defence budget. .... If you don't believe in deploying your armed forces, you aren't going to prioritize spending on military equipment.

We had enough in the budget to buy a large case Gorilla tape and glue.

So the PM moves back to his mums place lol Just sounds odd I guess, but, his spokesMUM says they having a few repairs done first. (I admit it is long overdue repairs) Maybe Wynne will fund the repairs by stealing school children's lunch money?

Ill be happy if he doesnt raise GST. We wont benefit from any income tax cut since we are below his income range, but would be affected by a raise in GST.

So was it a promise broken or a play on words which was amended.
The promise to bring in 25,000 refugees by 31 December 2015.
We have learnt today that only 10,000 will arrive by 31 December 2015. The other 15,000 by the end of February 2016.
Also to be noted that the Liberals promised the 25,000 would be Govt sponsored refugees but we also found out that 10,000 of these are in fact privately sponsored refugees.

Hope Former Lancastrian sends a copy of all the Liberal platform promises to Trudeau - probably have forgotten most of them by Christmas and is hoping that we will have, too.
