Had it with this place - do not move here

Possibly on sheers numbers alone, but there is almost twice the population in the UK, hence if twice as many Brits move to Canada than vice-versa, then there is no difference. I would also wager that more Canadians move to the UK, with a British ppt (thru ancestry) than vice-versa and therefore are not 'immigration' statistics.
I sort of know what you are talking about (hotter summers and snowy cold winters), but there is still something I find absurd about the concept of moving to Canada for a better climate !! Vancouver for me, is probably very similar to the UK.

Vancouver is definatley a better climate to Scotland. Vancouver more similar to London. I do not make this statement about London due to major experience of living there...only from watching 'big brother'....they are always sunbathing!!!!

In Scotland we are lucky to get any more than a straight few days of really good weather. Looking forward to buying a barby and using it more than once a year.
night night...away to watch CBC Vancouver with Gloria on PC.

The last bit shocked me. You are actually making a concious choice to watch Canadian TV over UK TV?? You're either mad or you'll fit right in when you get here

However if anywhere is better than where you are, can you be making a mistake and be anything but better off than you think you are now?

....There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns.

The climate here's nothing like Vancouver. It's arid, very low humidity, hot and sunny during the summer, mild and dry spring and fall and very tolerable in terms of winter temperatures, with perhaps just a couple of feet of snow accumulation Dec to March. Far more reliable than UK weather and for me a much nicer climate.

I dunno, the OH and I thought Uk tv was pretty shite when we were there last year. Maybe it depends on what kind of shite you're used to.
