Guitar Mad People

Re: Guitar Mad People
I would love to change the bridge pick up in my Strat for a humbucker but didn't know if my soldering skills would be up to it. Did you find it hard to swap all your electronics out?

Question
For those who also have Bass guitars
How hard you find the transition to a Bass ? Should I get one ?

Re: Guitar Mad People
I played electric guitar for a year and a half before deciding to try electric bass. For me, bass was a lot easier to play and learn than guitar. I still find it easier after another year and a half of playing both. If you like rhythm, bass is good for you to try. I have a Fender Jazz Bass and I absolutely love it!

Re: Guitar Mad People
I have to admit that I am enjoying learning the bass but don't attempt to play your bass through a guitar amp, the speaker will not like it. I have learned that one can play a guitar through a bass amp.
If you know the names of your notes of your guitar, you will have little trouble with a bass. However, finger stretches take on a new level of pain on a bass.
I like using the bass to lay down a loop on my looper and then playing guitar over it. Prince, I am not, but I can impress the other members of my family!

Re: Guitar Mad People
It’s not as easy I thought it be. Higher action, big fret distance and fat strings. Also knowing bass lines is a search and seek mission
Anyhow this combo is for sale also, not sure what to offer? Thinking 150$ maybe a good price. If I buy it that is?
Bass is a 2003 Squier P Bass and amp is basic 15w Fender Bass amp

Re: Guitar Mad People
Bass needs at least 4x the wattage of a guitar amp if you want a nice clean sound with some headroom...unless you're just looking for a practice amp. In that case I would just get a headphone amp.

Didn’t buy the bass, just couldn’t get with it, it isn’t for me
Want a hollow or semi hollow body now, any will do, had a cheap car boot no name many years ago and loved it.

Re: Guitar Mad People
If you get one of those, you will have to learn all of Chuck Berry's songs!
