Guitar Mad People

Re: Guitar Mad People
I picked this up today off a Kijiji add. It's a Art & Lutherie "Wild Cherry" acoustic, they are hand made in Canada, Quebec to be exact, it's a 1999, it's my first quality guitar as the rest of my group are low budget shiny things lol. Actually the Fender Squier plays really well.
I played some tunes when I went to buy it and almost shit myself at how good I sounded. I was like WTF have I been missing lol

Re: Guitar Mad People
Is loud, I found a few faults with it since I played it all last night. It was dusty inside so I vacuumed that today, needs new strings for sure and a couple of frets have some wear on them, it's been played a lot, maybe why the sound is so loud and rich.
I can't play my other one now it's sound so bad lol and I played that one all the time too.!! Maybe 89$ guitars from Factory Direct are not the best quality after all

Re: Guitar Mad People
Talking of new strings... what a pain in the arse. I love having new strings but I hate changing them.

Re: Guitar Mad People
I also hate having to faff around with truss rod adjustments so, once I have found a set up I like, I buy the same type and gauge of strings. 11s on my acoustics and 10s on my electrics.

Re: Guitar Mad People
I hate new strings, particularly on acoustics where I always think they sound too bright until they have been played for 10 hours or so.

Re: Guitar Mad People
I suggest point out "projects" for all to work on. I'm not suggesting something crazy difficult, just something that everyone will be able to have a go at and is recognisable.
I'll start it off
Bon Jovi - Dead or Alive. When I learned the opening riff, I was really pleased with mysel:

Re: Guitar Mad People
Please tell me I am not the only one who needs to put their 'old man reading glasses' on to play the guitar....
