Re: gays not welcomed
going back to the OP, just on business basis - I wonder if the owners such as the ones in the link if they have ever thought to discourage customers to simply up the room rate or just say no room at the inn?
This is all for nowt & bloody stupid are those hotel owners imo if they are running a business where they likely see all kinds of funny goings on without worrying about gays occupying the rooms. |

I think you will find that a Gay person is more tolerant in their business that the straight person. |

I think he meant me but he's a bit clumsy in using English and so cannot see that a reference to ethnicity, e.g. "there are lots of Asian people in China" is not necessarily insulting, compare "I wouldn't move to China because there are lots of Asian people in China".
Dear Lord (if any), I hope they don't let him near hand grenades. Your comment about University of Toronto being a dumping ground fror Asian students was just classic, and then there was you Escalade comment with regards to Black people You obviously live by stereotypes, and it's not surprising d(dead) b(beat) d(dad) |

That's been going on for months. Discrimination on the basis of race, colour or sexual orientation is illegal in the UK, snd that's why they were prosecuted, they aren't the first, but they should be the last hotel to discriminate as there is now a supreme court ruling that it is illegal to discriminate

But my question is this: is it really discrimination?
the hotel owners have certain beliefs and values? so under these circumstances whose rights should predominate? seems to me to be a grey area and not that not clear cut |
Re: gays not welcomed
A very very very wise man once said this...
How can I be expected to believe that this same racial discrimination which has been the cause of so much injustice and suffering right through the years, should now operate here to give me a fair and open trial?....consider myself neither morally nor legally obliged to obey laws made by a Parliament in which I am not represented. That the will of the people is the basis of the authority of government, is a principle universally acknowledged as sacred throughout the civilized world.†|
