OK our representative this year Bonnie Tyler is 61. I dont know about her having a Total Eclipse of the Heart Id be more concerned with her having a heart attack. TBF she looks good for 61.
Last year Engelbert Humperdinck was 75 when he sang.
Are the UK now taking the piss by only entering grannies and granddads.
Where are the young vibrant performers?

Eurovision is truly television at its best! I'm with the score cards, nibbles and many alcoholic bracers....EV should never be considered unless you are squiffy. Last year I had a couple of Danes a Swede and some French in for the evening and we had a blast....there was a break off group who went off to watch the rugby. A festival of utterly unmissable dreadfulness, bring it on!
London-England-Lad, I really like your posts and your impressions, but the Tdot is giving me the pip too.

Also I don't drink - so I do it sober, something Wogan never was and that is why in my opinion Norton will never be Eurovision King. El Tel for ever !

Re: Eurovision Song Contest.
im sure if they cancelled Eurovision then the number of people emigrating from the UK would fall dramatically..im surprised the Govt hasnt cottoned on to this as a way of staunching the brain drain problem..Im not sure if Eurovision is a prerequisite of EU membership these days..maybe UKIP should check into it

Re: Eurovision Song Contest.
Those were the days my friend when we would all sit around the telly watching the Eurovision Song Contest. Congratulations we now have a thread about it.
Are you making your mind up about if its still something we need to watch.
Let me be the one to say Im glad we dont get it here though some will beg steal or borrow to watch it.
We now have choices and no longer are we a puppet on a string with only 3 channels to pick from.
Im never giving up watching Corrie or giving a small child a jack in the box to play with.
Power to all our friends who do manage to watch it.
No points for pointing out how many songs are in the above.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest.
You can count me as a eurovision lover as well.
This was and entry in the Estonian heats this year and they were one point away from being the official entry.
They were robbed I tells ya.
It's unspeakably amazing, make sure you watch till the end.
Apparently all the band have PHD's.
My other fave from years gone by is this.
Also my celebrity claim to fame is that I once made a cup of tea for a member of Bucks Fizz.
