Now most on here know I have no time for any of the parties except the Bloc as I wouldn't mind Quebec separating. So the Liberals have been spending like drunken sailors and I suspect the NDP if elected would even spend more. The Cons would probably spend less and look at reducing the deficit.
We all do our own budgets at home and we all realize that if we are spending more than what comes in then we end up in debt. The only advantage we have as individuals over the Govt is that the banks will eventually stop lending us money so you either reign in your spending or visit certain places/individuals and borrow money from them. Disadvantage to that is sometimes the repayment terms include a hospital bed stay.
So go ahead and vote for who you think is best but don't be shocked when the election promises they made suddenly disappear during their term(s) of office. Many of us remember some of the porkies we were told by both Liberal and PC previous campaigns and most don't take the NDP & Greens seriously enough to form a Govt.

MADD asked him to resign but he refused. At the time DUI was a Criminal Code of Canada offence but in Hawaii it is only a misdemeanour. He plead no contest and fined $913 USD and to take part in substance abuse classes and be assessed for alcoholism. In 2004 he imposed an unprecedented 15% cut to health care employees.

Not just pay cuts he outsourced entire departments in hospitals, name food service and housekeeping, and guess what hospitals got dirtier and food got worse. Some services just cannot be run as for profit and still provide a quality service.
NDP recently announced they will bring those services back in house of the coming months, which will improve pay, working conditions, and benefits, and hospitals will once again have direct control over said services.
Outsourcing is generally bad news for workers.
If you account for inflation, disability today pays less than the 1990's despite far higher costs of living, the housing portion is still stuck at $375/month and there is basically nowhere in BC someone can rent non-subsidized housing for that amount.
Then people act shocked the homeless population keeps increasing.

Inflation rises to 4.1% highest since 2003.

With 4 days left to go the Conservatives have picked up the points they lost and are running neck and neck with the Libs. 338 puts them a little closer than CBC but given the plus or minus qualification that's nothing.

I watched hours of talking heads on CPAC this morning; they're all so convincing, I regret that I wasn't able to vote for all of them!

Well anyone who wants to vote next week and gets COVID or told to isolate will have no way to cast a ballot if they didn't cast an early ballot.
One reason not to leave voting to last day.

Saskatchewan is getting a temporary mask mandate beginning tomorrow, proof of vaccination mandate to follow. Our Premier has been getting some flak lately and I think seeing Jason Kenny bite the bullet and take some action next door was the needed final push.

Because a million ballots were sent out to voters who requested them, it could take days for a winner to be declared. Early results show the mail in votes are slanted to the Liberals, but it's impossible to know if that will continue. The two front runners continue to poll neck and neck for the lead. I just watched a bit of today's campaigning on CPAC and it's laughable. Some people are totally incapable of giving a straight answer to a plain question.

This knob-head drinks in my local bar. The verbal gymnastics they employ to cover up their victim versions of racism, sexism and homophobia is depressingly uncreative.
