Re: Coronavirus
I am off to get water, milk and contact lense solution today, water because our tap water is well water and despite a treatment system is pretty smelly so unpalatable. Milk because we need tea and contact solution for my eye health. I tend to keep our food stocks low as there are only two of us, hopefully if we do end up quarantined I'll still be able to feed us.

I have been promised a job when they re open (if they do close, the owner is on her way back from Mexico so her daughter is trying to organise things, we will find out after the weekend what route they are taking).
You will have to get the shears out and do her yourself lol. I have had to give Nushka 2 baths already this week due to poopageddon, thankfully she is still little and also very good. She needs a nail trim, I shall get the vets to do that tomorrow as I am too scared to do that (black nails, can't see the vein).

I’ve just ordered a hair trimmer from Amazon. I will do Ellie and then hubby needs a trim.
ellie has black claws...I use one of those claw grinders. Works quite well, as I too am worried about hurting her with the clippers.

Bus drivers here are no longer giving the transfer slips if one needs to change buses and they will not be punching the punch cards either. You just show your card and the 'honour' system means you will make a hole yourself.
I helped a friend bring a little Danby home about a month ago and it seemed like a nice unit for about $220 on sale.
It was in the house before I was.
Normal prices in Giant Tiger last week and Superstore this week. My email from Galen Weston said Loblaws/Superstore prices would remain unchanged.
That said, their prices vary so much - usually in a good way - how could you tell?

They work very well for small calluses too.
I trust you just stun them, otherwise how could they tell you where their supply of nuts is hidden?

Re: Coronavirus
I renewed my prescription yesterday and they wouldn't let me pick it up, delivery only for the time being. Also yesterday at No Frills and Wholesale Club the fresh meat and poultry sections were heavily depleted (but there was still some) as well as noticeable holes in the canned goods shelves, also at Giant Tiger (though they don't have much anyway). It must be from people filling up their freezers, and my take on this is fine, some people who live out of town, people who have families and want to make sure they're ok in case they want to or have to stay home. The supply chain will catch up soon because the freezers can only hold so much, and people can only eat so fast. I'm confident enough that I haven't bothered plugging in the freezer in the basement, and didn't bother going out early to take advantage of the new senior's shopping hour at the grocery stores that are doing it. I want to get gas while it's still 73.9, a new bottle of Lemon Hart and a case of Diet Coke, some brown sugar and some baker's chocolate, a dozen tortillas and some chicken thighs if I see them. Maybe a big can of tomato juice in case I need Bloody Marys, then I'll be prepared. It's hard enough for me to rotate the stuff in the freezing compartment in the fridge so I'm not wasting space up there, but I have considered getting a little energy-efficient freezer at some point. I helped a friend bring a little Danby home about a month ago and it seemed like a nice unit for about $220 on sale. I think freezers like that will be out of stock for awhile too.

Re: Coronavirus
I have a Danby chest freezer, it came from the scratched and dented section (like all my appliances). The scratched side is against a wall. It was $90 so less than the cost of one tray of contents. I've had it about 15 years so I think it's been value for money. Danby is a local firm with a good reputation as an employer so, really, it's just the ideal appliance for this socialist to use to chill the champagne.

Interesting thread from an Italy perspective - on the stages the country went through (as are others) - indifference to OMG.

So I guess in theory the prices technically haven't gone up since its the regular listed price and they can say the lower price is promotional.
It is surprising how high normal price is on some products that seem to be perpetually on sale at stores.
In parts of the US they are cracking down hard, price increases during states of emergencies is illegal, and arrests and charges are being made, but not sure how it works in Canada.
Professional stores know not to price gouge, but these people on craigslist in the US trying to make a quick buck don't seem to understand that price gouging in a state of emergency is a criminal act in many states.
