My sister has just had the 2nd AZ shot. She was in bed with flu like symptoms…more or less back to normal after 24 hrs. Her husband had no symptoms. Neither had symptoms with the first shot.

My daughter had her 1st Moderna shot recently…same symptoms as my sister.

By the way it takes a bit of playing around to get used too but lots of interesting data from Ontario Public Health to play with in here. It's a shame the Government of Ontario don't know how to use it.

I had nothing exciting with .Moderna just a very sore injection site. Same for husband who had AZ. First jab only of course. Like you I've heard that the second dose is the evil one.

It's Mothers Day tomorrow and I see family groups out walking, I hope they aren't taking their mums the gift of COVID.

If the studies show mix matching vaccines is okay, BC may go that route.

Dr Isaac Bogoch, Infectious Disease Specialist, is on TV daily. He keeps mentioning the same and that the results from the UK are expected within the next week or so.

My understanding is that Pfizer & Moderna are an mRNA type vaccine, and Oxford/AstraZeneca & J&J are viral vector vaccines.

Probably best to Google the differences rather than have me explain it, but the viral vector type has been linked to blood clots, where as the mRNA has not....yet.

2 people my MIL was friends with died of COVID a few days ago, they got sick late March and died 17 hours apart a few days ago.

Both were in the upper end of 70 age wise.

On a positive note. I had a haircut today and talking to the barber he said that having to have appointments only during covid had actually made his job a lot less stressful. He said typically on a Friday or Saturday teatime he could end up with up to half a dozen people sitting in the shop past closing time waiting for a haircut and it was stressing him so much he was thinking of calling it quits. Now he knows when he will finish work and is much happier. He intends to keep the appointment system when restrictions are lifted. BTW its on an app so dead easy to choose and book your slot. From a customers point of view I prefer it too, straight in, cut and out, not having to watch 3 other blokes haircuts whilst reading yesterday's Sun. Makes you wonder why no one thought of it before - have a great day😁
