After a very painful and difficult phone call where she read the uber long website link character by character, I was able to book online for her, website seemed to work fine, but earliest appointment for her in Squamish was mid June, which isn't bad, about 75 days from her first dose.

OH called to make his appointment this morning. He only waited on hold for 10 minutes. Now he has an appointment for the 17th June ............ but it's at the Conference Centre downtown.

That's about as far as you can go from our place, and little parking!

The dip in numbers is hopefully a good sign :fingerscrossed:

51% is for Canada. I stated Ontario, which is currently 67% according to Christine Elliot, Ontario’s Minister of Health.

This is the provinces published data: https://covid19tracker.ca/provincevac.html?p=ON

As of yesterday evening 57% of people in Ontario had received at least one dose. 65% of those over 12.

We are ahead of vaccination targets for the lockdown removals.

The number of people in ICU is still very high though.

Always seems to work that way, home on one side of a city and an appointment on the total opposite side...

I'd imagine since Moderna and Pfizer are similiar vaccines that those under 18 accidently receiving it probably wont lead to any issues, but maybe some retraining on the part of staff is needed to remind them moderna isn't approved for 12-17 year old's yet.

The number of people in ICU is still very high though.

So Ontario appears to be at 56.8% of the entire population with 1 dose, remove those not eligible (under 12) and 64.7% of those eligible with at least 1 dose.

Hopefully by fall Canada will be 60%-70% fully vaccinated, we still lag on the fully vaccinated by quite a large gap compared to the US.

 The numbers have exceeded the 60% required for lockdown to be lifted on the 14th. A couple of days after the lockdown was extended the minister said the 60% had been exceeded.

I now have an appointment to have my 2nd jab on June 23 out at UBC, which is pretty close to home, and we know about all the parking as our medical clinic is out there.

OH did it for me, got on the phone almost immediately, but had some problem with the call centre woman who kept asking for more information. I finally went on the other phone, and proved to her that I couldn't hear her

That's where we had to the first jab ....... it was weird being in a huge casino building, with theatre, dance floors etc, and the only visible clue was a hallway leading off the entrance hall with rows of flashing lights on one-armed bandits!

Our son is getting his 1st jab at an indoor football complex in Toronto in a bit over a week..it would be his 2nd home if he could choose it. His sister had it a week ago there and she thought it would be a cruel place for her brother to get his jab as he hasn't been able to play football for more than a year.

51.16% was for Ontario, according to the map on the page I linked to (as of a week ago... wish they would update it!) ... https://health-infobase.canada.ca/co...tion-coverage/

Do you have a link to the announcement you mention regarding the 67%? I can't find any mention on the Govt. website nor on her Twitter account.

Edited to add apparently she is going to make an announcement at 12pm 1st June: https://news.ontario.ca/en/advisory/...l-announcement
Fingers crossed! :fingerscrossed:

Newfoundland has vaccinated 60.6% of the population eligible (Roughly 480k) for vaccines with one dose. Apparently we're vaccinating 1% of that population per day. Vaccination is extending down to 12 year olds - my 12 year old has an appointment in a couple of weeks. I'm hopeful that improved supply will allow the acceleration of second doses from the automatic 16 weeks after the first to somewhere nearer 12. We'll see.

There's a couple of cluster outbreaks - Indian variant - but they seem to be under control. Most of the province is under alert level 2 which is where we've been for most of the pandemic - schools open, restaurants & shops open with limited capacity etc. This feels like a new normal to be honest. Attention is now on whether we'll open the provincial border this summer. The tourism industry is desperate to do so, but there is a fair amount of public opposition.

Mine was in an ice hockey rink. I suppose that's usual.

Did they provide the skates or did you have to rent them?

After his jab probably spent 15 minutes in the penalty box.
