Not according to the BBC data, which uses Johns Hopkins as its source. It's near the top though.

Transmission between individuals who are not taking adequate precautions or keeping social distance. Not rocket science.

Re: Coronavirus
Deaths per million, whole pandemic -
UK: 1341 US: 1212 EU27/EEA: 892 |
Re: Coronavirus
CNN also use John Hopkins data, which is often different to the CDC data which is different to the Worldometer data...
UK data is within 28 days of positive test, ie up to 23:59 on D28, should you die 2 minutes later at 00:01 on D29, tough, and if your D28 falls on a weekend equally tough. Which is why I am a tad cynical about the vaccination rate (but hope to be wrong). |
Re: Coronavirus
USA data, this morning -
Worldometer: 24,626,441 & 408,623 CNN (JHU): 24,078,593 & 399,003 NYT: 24,126,100 & 399,052 I use the latter's data. |

It's shockingly bad performance (UK). We tend to regard the US as having a more chaotic and ineffective pandemic response, but the stats pain a very differnt picture. Amazingly, the UK media does not dwell on it.
