I can't Sort out the marks.... He was 85, so is that 15 points? It was hardly a great surprise though....like MMC, I didn't put him as a contender as he has been half in the bag for damned near a decade.

Yes, 15 points unless he's a player's joker then it's doubled.

So Oakvillian, Oopsbuddy, Souvy and I have Sharon as a regular pick, and Novocastrian and Yorkiechef have him as their joker.

In accordance with the rules, it doesn't count until the BBC announces it. Ariel Sharon dead.

Ooh, goody. My first points EVAH!

Do we edit our own runners or does PF?

Either way, I'd like Jack Charlton as my new joker (you know, Bobbie's bro)

You want to be careful about attracting the Grim Reaper's attention, you know... ;)

I can assure you that when my croak arrives, the BBC won't report it. :(

That's what you hope.

I can see the headlines now... "Retired Geordie prof sets fire to French village in freak late-night Gauloise and Calvados accident."

Sam Simon for me please!

Ok. Just possibly the BBC might pick it up.

I think "Itinerant Scottish Oil Supremo Found Frozen in Canadian Tundra" is marginally more likely.

If I thought I'd get elevated to the status of 'Supremo' I'd go for a hike in my underpants tonight!

I couldn't find anything more resonant. Would "lackey" have been preferable?

Lackey is much more apt.

Sam Simon for me too, please make him my joker.

I know I know - I could've dived in at the last minute with him as the joker - stolen the points then changed to my now joker.

This is why I'd never make it in the cut throat world of business - I'm too nice :)
