I wouldn't be surprised if a lot did, he had gone home to die just a few weeeks ago, so I assume people would have thought he would make a good joker. Just looked and no-one had him, neither has anyone got Glen Campbell who is also in end stage Alzheimers.

So I suppose that would mean that he won't be "In Town Tonight" ! ;)

I was a little too young for that one.
Holiday was more 'my time' for him.

He also presented some of those occasional "So you think you know..." shows. They were fun :)

Rob Ford isn't doing too well (well when is he ever) and 6 of us on this forum have him on our Celebrity Croakers list.

Does it make me an irredeemably horrible person that, on reading in a news report that he turns 47 on May 28, my first thought was "Ooh, he's my joker, I'll lose two points if he makes it that far"?

As much of a buffoon as he is, I certainly don't wish an early death on him. He has two kids... he looks pretty awful, though. And it sounds like things are progressing pretty rapidly.

On the other hand, no one has had any correct guesses yet on the spreadsheet... (I'm still kicking myself for not adding in Rene Angelil, I did think of it in December but then completely forgot when I was actually doing picks!)

No it doesn't. Well not in my book and that's obviously the only one worth worrying about.

RIP Rob Ford

Love him or hate him, he tried harder to clean up Toronto City Council than anyone else in recent memory, though cleaning himself up wasn't he managed to do so well.

While I disagree fundamentally and diametrically with your opinion of the impact of Rob Ford's tenure on Toronto City Council, this is genuinely sad news. RIP.

And for the avoidance of doubt - my comment a couple of posts above was intended only in the context of a game which is, after all, in exceedingly poor taste. Of course I didn't, and don't, wish any ill on the poor man and his family in real life.

ETA: I've updated the spreadsheet with points. Bats, Partially Discharged, tootlepootle and I all need to pick a new player and a new joker. MikeyPM and Souvy need a new player.

Hehe, we knew how you meant it. :)

It is genuinely sad news, this can't be easy on his kids or on his family. Seems to have happened quite quickly.

Just went to update the spreadsheet but someone beat me to it. Need new picks from:
bats (+joker)
Mikeypm
Oakvillian (+joker)
Partially Discharged (+joker)
Souvy
tootlepoodle (+joker)

VI just looked at the spreadsheet. I had Terry Wogan as a.choice so I need some points for him please and I'll think of two new choices.

I was about to make that comment for you, my little angel of death. You beat me to it.

I've stuck in Clive James as my replacement (I think!).
