The word 'giant' struck me as odd too.

Apart from physical stature, he seemed more a mid-ranking actor to me.

Daniel Day-Lewis or Ian McKellan would be 'giants' in British Film...but Alan Rickman...not really.

Tons of deaths so far and yet no one that anyone had on the spreadsheet!

Annoyingly, in December I actually thought at one point that I should add Rene Angelil, but then totally forgot about it when I was actually doing my picks! Bah!

And from a quick google, yes Joe Cocker died on 22 Dec 2014. :)
