Canucks lost - vancouver riots!

Touche. But can I mention something wise that Bob McCown, a well known sports broadcaster, said about the NHL. Try recording a hockey match in it's entirety and asking someone to edit out the goals. Now watch the game and see if you have any idea which side won.

I was listening to ecomms (am nerd). One of their issues was getting around due to large mass of people and not wanting to incite violence.
I just don't know how realistic it is to expect riots to never happen. Actually, I don't think it's realistic to expect riots to never happen.

At least something happened here in vancoma for once!!
A buddy was a few steps behind the guy who fell from the viaduct and plummeted 6 storeys. Apparently an awning broke his fall. He is listed in critical condition.
At least the Leafs can go back to being Canada's team again.

Plus, if you edited out the bit where they skate around, it would be a lot more watchable.

It sounds like you have an idea of what they could have done differently...which would be??

Personally I think the dozen or so coppers facing down thousands did pretty well - but they weren't enough, there needed a few hundred of them. When the canucks were 2-0 down reinforcements should have been brought in then and placed a street or two away - rather than an hour after the riots started. It's simple stuff, and they screwed up.

There wasn't enough of them.

VPD had to ask for them from other cities...you're assuming they'd be given willingly. OTher cities also have to deal with the stanley cup stuff, the usual crimes, etc...so basically the rest of the lowermainland should have been left and all the police gone to vancouver? i'm sorry but i live in burnaby, i want my rcmp here. that's what I pay for.
of course i don't really begrudge van having extra forces..but my point is they have to come from somewhere else which ergo loses it's police. that's not necessarily a decision the vpd can make.

I think it is a rather silly comment by McCown. I have seen plenty of football games where one team plays the other off the park but fails to score, only for the other to score on a breakaway in the last 10 minutes. Edit out that goal and you'll pick the wrong winner.
I am not sure what this proves, if anything.

Alcohol fuelled young males in a large crowd of equally alcohol fuelled young males getting high on the moment. 75% of them will now be thinking "Fu$k, was I doing that??" The other 25% I have no idea what they're thinking I'm afraid as I didn't speak to them.

You mean gridiron or association?
Are the Whitecap fan's and BC Lion's fans worse than the Canucks?
For heavens sakes how many riots are there in Vancouver?
