my daughter is there too, plus she has to get from Park Royal to YVR tomorrow morning on public transport

Bad as English footy hooligans IMO
No excuse for that kind of behavior over a lost game.

Great... This is so funny. Firstly, its in Vancouver, secondly its over iced hockey, and third people want to move here for the kids.
This is the real Canada

Looks like the goon squad has arrived. It's probably going to be mostly over in the next short while.
You can see the results of the facebook generation as everyone wants their picture on top of a burning car. Nice work geniuses, you've got your pictures on TV.

I assume iced hockey will be banned after this. So every cloud has a silver lining.

Not to worry, the Mayor has it sorted:
"Vancouver is a world-class city and it is embarrassing and shameful to see the type of violence and disorder we’ve seen tonight," Robertson told the Vancouver Sun newspaper.
Still world-class.

Right, don't start having a dig at the so-called 'English footy hooligans' because compared to some of the French, Dutch, Italian & Turkish fans, and not to mention the animal like fans of certain South American teams, the English fans are positively angelic!
And so as bad a the reputation of English footy fans may have been....I don't ever recall cars being overturned and set on fire.
That said.....I completely agree with your second comment that it's no excuse for that kind of behavior over a lost game......whatever the sport.
