Oi, you cynical bar-steward, leave off knocking the scientists, eh? Some of us are very careful about being hand-fed by anything but the public purse. You can still survive that way in Canada you know.... it's one of the few advantages we have here.

Yuk not that muck, I prefer stirred fried to make it a healthy option with some green bits and wholegrain wild rice (heaven forbid we use some tame rice).

Comparisons between the two children should NOT have been made......my point exactly, and I'm glad you agree......but this is what the British media was accused of doing, on the basis of background and appearance, which is why certain campaigns will appeal to people, and others won't. It's wrong, it's unfair, but it happens............in the same way that fat people are seen as lazy and stupid, but slim people aren't.

Same went for photogenic Milly Dowler from leafy Walton and Thames. Articulate parents fighting to keep the media attention focused on their daughter. You cannot blame them but it seems so unfair.

Sorry i'm not biting that one!!! fat or thin people have a choice to be who they are and make judgements on others through there own experiances (hopefully)
Animals have no choice, Humans decide animals fate for different reasons and who am I to judge, doesn't mean I like it.

I hope you dont feel like you have to *spell things out* to me, if you read what i wrote you will find I said, people like seals cos there fluffy you re- itterated that and started on about kids and now fat people. I'm sure you believe what point you are trying to make is valid, but unless you come to it I am at a loss to see what it is! Oh, unless that point would be the one I originally made, if so it would mean you are trying to pick a fight, and i'm not sure I can be bothered with that!

No - not picking a fight at all....sorry if it appeared that way. I think we have mis-read the intention behind each other's posts....apologies! I was stating how unfair it is that these comparisons are, inevitably, made...........I thought you misunderstood.

No apologies needed, I too was just trying to say that comparisons shouldn't be made.. after all a life is a life and valid whether its a bug or bison, Maybe I should try to be clearer in my posts in the future:o
