Thought as much.

That pic should be stickied in the Wiki somewhere :(

I am *somewhat miffed* to learn that it's 20 degrees warmer in Calgary tonight than here.

As for other kids, the local paper and radio had features about people having to stay home with the kids and keeping them occupied. |
Re: Blizzard
So we've had a bit of a break. The city has taken a lot out of town to the snow dump. The streets are still narrow with high snowbanks making it dangerous at junctions. But it's mainly only been flurries for a week.
I wasn't bothered by the projected 2cm for today. I wasn't bothered when it was upped again later in the day. I wasn't too bothered when last night it was amended to a snow alert because at least it's not a warning. But then it changed to 10-15cm. Then 15-20cm. Well, that's still under 8" and I'd have taken that if offered a week ago. But there's no sign of it stopping yet and there was more than 8 inches on the top step (no drifting at all) over an hour ago. :( Ah...I just checked and now it's saying up to 25cm :frown: |

Re: Blizzard
I love that silly weather report A Expat...it still makes me laugh, even though I now believe it's deadly serious.
My worst habit in this weather is getting stuck in my own snow bank...I've done it three times this week (admittedly in blowing snow) but my husband is not at all amused:unsure: I and a couple of colleagues got trapped at work on Wednesday. The car park is behind the building, down a long incline, the snow fell so fast that none of us could get our cars up the hill to get out. We had to walk to the main road and get cabs....irritating...but the sun is shining now, it hasn't snowed for two whole days...life is looking good:thumbup: |
