You can easily spend that on other hobbies, seems pretty good value really. I take it you leave your boat in the water most of the year, what are the berthing charges near you?

That is expensive, how much for them to put in, pull out daily? i know you might have problems with your appt and parking the boat. is it an option? That is what I would want to do, take the boat home each time and wash it down.

If you lived in a place with a drive you could trailer it and it doesn't cost anything but the parking for the time you're on the water. But that's a pain in the arse unless you have a small boat or a very large truck. And it not an option for where I live. Plus, I like the convenience just be able to wander down be on the water in ten minutes.

No tractors putting them in and out for you then? I wonder if a diesel defender will put a 18-20ft boat in and out? Any clues anyone?

I'm not sure about VI, I'm only talking about the marinas around the city. We have travel lifts but they are around $150 to pick up and another $150 to put down. I can't see why a Land Rover wouldn't be able to do it for a small boat like that if the ramp is not too steep. Make sure you wash your truck off as it'll no doubt have to go into the saltwater.

Oink...and others, do you smoke your own fish? I really like the idea of getting to grips with a smoker...of the smaller variety. My husband used to really like sea fishing, from the beach with a line, and I hope he might do it again when we go back to Canada. I'd love to try and smoke the, hopefully plentiful, results.
