Crazy - I am with Ricky Gervais on this one - are lettuce and fruit really that expensive - surely they are cheaper than bacon butties?

It's disgusting!! I have heard so many similar stories on things like this. I don't know why the government allows people to get away with things so easily:confused:

They could easily get jobs in an office at least!!:curse:

Emma, said: "I'm a student and don't have time to exercise" she said "We all want to lose weight to stop the abuse we get in the street, but we don't know how."
Here's a clue, eat less, exercise more! Rocket surgery its not!

No time to exercise as a student? Funny, as an Engineering student with 9-5 lectures and labs, I still managed to fit in 2 hockey matches a week, two evening training sessions and an hour in the gym. Give me a f'in break!

Perhaps a more accurate excuse for them would be 'too stupid to get a job'

That's outrageous - and sad. How can anyone, in today's age of being bombarded with health information say they don't understand that a diet of bacon butties and pies might be a tad unhealthy in the long run? Genetics, my arse. And even if there were some genetic factors in there, so what?

I bet they have a TV - and I bet they sit in front of it whilst hoofing down the butties. Switch the channel to Strictly Come Slimming, or X-Fatter or Gillian McKeith or Britain's Fattest Family, or whatever the hell selection is out there. If they don't work, they have time to research a couple of books at the library (hey, they could even walk there) and do some price comparisons on a bag of apples. They have time to register with a whole host of health officials who could steer them in the right direction.

That is ignorance of the highest order - and a complete inability to work out how to change things is either downright laziness, or lack of brain cells - but I suspect it is a combination of the two. Not too ignorant to speak to the papers, get their incredibly sad sob story in the press, or tart themselves up for a photo opportunity though.

I have no issues with large, fat, overweight people per se - I could lose a stone or two myself. From the limited info in this article though (and admittedly, the media never give the whole story) - they are taking the p***. And they are not even that fat really, compared perhaps to someone morbidly obese who cannot move.

OK - off my high horse and going to stuff my face with a bowl of bran flakes and a banana, with skimmed milk. I have very expensive tastes. ;)
