#1 Offspring tried to say grace before a meal at the catholic school and they wouldnt let her! I thought it was funny, but it was a bit traumatic for a 5 year old.
I totally agree that people should pick and choose what they believe in.

So why bother with confirmation? If its the baptism that matters?

Being a Catholic is such hard work, bejesus!

OH MY GOD!! A religious thread. My guess is that this will run and run and will get ugly by page 4, or interesting, whichever your belief is.

Organised religion, discuss.

Perhaps I should have phrased it as catholic doctrine has it that the unbaptised have no prospect of entering heaven...

If the finer points need clarification you should probably find a clergyman to bother

I dont give it that many pages, but I dont think with was the thread you think it was.

Oh please, Catholisicm is the easiest brand out there, do what you like, feel guilty, confess, get absolution. Repeat. As long as your timing is right and you get absolved at the end the future is all harps and flowing robes.

Actually I rather liked what Keith Richards had to say about heaven and hell. They are the same place, but in heaven you get to hang out with all your old friends and have a great time, but in Hell no one can see or hear you and they all ignore you.. Hes one of those deep, seemingly slow moving streams is Keef.

I'm off to the creativity thread, I can believe in that. I will however follow this thread for it's entertainment value.

The trick is to try and let everything they tell your children go in one ear and out the other, eventually you're children will do the same ...

Oh my kids are way ahead of the curve on the "in one ear and out the other" thing. At least as far as anything their parents have to say...

I think that's a scary thought, i'd rather go by my theory ...I don't want to go to heaven, I won't know anyone there...

To be fair I feel this is it, nothing up there or down below, all a figment of someones warped sense of humour but carried on like it's believable and we buy into it because of fear and the what ifs. How dare we think for ourselves and all that, God forbid.. It's the biggest scam going....i'm ranting now...lol
