Re: Properties in Calabria

Rupinder,

I have used G&L to buy one apartment in Pizzo Beach Club and one in Jewel of the Sea and never experienced any problems with them.

I actually found the service received of very high standard, Louise and Brendan always replied to our emails on-time, there was always a lawyer at hand if I needed to clarify some legal issues, the attorney who represented us on completion before the Notary was very professional (Karla) and, sincerely, could have not faulted them.

Do you really think that it's the lawyers' fault if a development in Calabria is not completed on time or at all? At the end of the day, we all chose to invest, and it is part and parcel of any investment that risks are associated with it.

If you were not prepared to take a risk, you should have bought a ready made property and not be greedy enough to buy off-plan in the property boom years to make some quick bucks.

And now blaming your own lawyers for a wrong choice made by YOU is immoral, IMO.

The beauty of these forums is that anyone can go on them, create them and basically accuse anyone else of being a rapist, thief or a rip-off merchant and have complete anonymity without recourse and many times just to knock some else down a peg or two.

These forums fuel hatred, contempt and are often harboring bitter ex-employees, bitter competitors and clients with small issues that get made out like they are gigantic ones.

It appears that your ultimate goal is making G&L lawyers out to be criminals and everything they do to be illegal or fraudulent: they transferred your file to Sicily, so what? if that a crime?

I flew to the head office in Sicily before completion, and their offices are staffed with over 30 lawyers, in the city centre, and were full of clients when we went to visit them.

Why do people hide behind pseudonyms? Could it be because they are keyboard warriors with no substance behind their postings and nothing else better in their lives to actually do but post negative comments after negative comments?

The internet is a powerful tool but can be a dangerous one and thankfully laws will eventually change and this type of freedom of slander will be a thing of the past.

I’m all for constructive criticism but not when it involves hatred and vile accusations with no firm evidence or concrete proof.

Sorry for the banter, but credit should be given when deserved.

JDR, as I said in my previous reply to you, I only joined this forum today and was going through all old/recent posts from top to page 2. I stopped at page 2 because I had to cook dinner :D:D

did not mean to spam anyone, was simply adding some personal comments to those posts where I felt that I had something relevant to add

if this is considered spam opr has caused any offence, I apologise in advance :fingerscrossed:

[QUOTE=ononno;8822829I love Calabria, but always go camping. Wouldn't have an appartment or villa there if it was FOC.
Anybody from UK thinking about Calabria - Caveat Emptor is the only advice I can give.
ciao for now,
'o nonno[/QUOTE]

Oooh O nonno - do please tell me either by PM or on here about camping in Calabria. I'd love full details! (If you don't mind).

Thank you.

Yes. - if the file was opened in the UK then UK law applies - taking it to Sicily, means that the client suffers at the expense of their good faith.

I have clients who have not bought in Calabria but have suffered terribly through incompetence and negligence. I am happy that your purchase went through without a hitch, but your reaction seems to be a bit over protective of GL - where exactly are we at? 1 satisfied and happy client and how many still in class actions?

I hope you had a good experience with Giambrone Law ; because we lost approx. $75000 Canadian to the Giambrone Law law firm: our monies were not released to VFI so I guess you can say we also lost our condo...... so far they have not acknowledged our complaint.....

 We have delt with Giambrone Law and have $75,000 invested and they don't seem to know where our funds are. We had made our off plot purchase at the Pizzo Beach resort. At this time 2 years later we still have no word from them.

I am glad to hear that you had such a good experience with the Italy side of their organization. We are not ex employees or competitors. We have transfered $75,000 to the firms office in london and they have not completed the transaction on our behalf to secure our Pizzo Beach condo. We have been also trying to find out what has been done with our funds to no avail. We would not put our documentation on this forum as it would not be prudent. From consultation with the firm we made the purchase from we were not the only ones having issues. So if you want to risk your funds with them be our guest as it seems that they don't sting everyone just a select few.

Italy is full of red tape - the general Italian public hates it as much as we do.
Many Italians are scared of kicking up a fuss and getting a bit vocal. It's considered vulgar and even shameful.

If you want some free advice - kick up the biggest stink you can and then you'll be noticed.
It might not be your usual style of doing business but sometimes here, the loudest voice is the one that gets listened to.

We are looking for any other people who have invested in QUALTA on the project VILLA DEL OLIVARA. We have invested in this company and seem to be getting absolutely nowhere despite having enlisted the help of a solicitor. We are extremely worried and are hoping to get in touch with anyone who can share information or experiences with us. Please reply as soon as possible. Thank you.
