Thanks for your words of reassurance it means a lot. I've contacted Medsea again today and still cannot get any information on my property, if indeed I have a property? Did you have problems finding out whether your property was being built too?

Thanks to Gillian and Andy. My property is at Villagio Angelo in Caulonia so any info would be great have a lovely holiday.

Gillian try www.propertymarketitaly.com for an update on your development. As far as I can see all of medsea's developments are on there and they are updated on a monthly basis with photo's.

Good luck

:( Sorry to be bearer of BAD NEWS... You may want to check but Medsea (like so many Agents in Spain. UK, Italy, EU) are in dire trouble and apparently ceased trading shares on 6th April. ... the Property Grim Reaper strikes again.

There must be 1000's of people affected by all these agents going under !!
Really Sorry ! :( :( But maybe anyone affected can get legal advice ASAP.

... I kept an eye on this as we nearly bought in Calabria with Medsea last year. I have no idea if other agents / builders in Calabria are affected by this.

Yes got it thanks. I was also aware that Medsea were in financial trouble but the contract is with the builder not the developer. In my case this is with Bella Calabria and they seem to be fine at the moment.

hi all,as far as i know, inall cases ic are the sales and marketing people, bella calabria are the promoters and the builder is the owner and developer of the land, still shouldnt be a problem as most developments are still progressing only 1 or 2 havent made it ie el caribe and possibly bella vista 2.good luck everyone brian.

Hello Folks. I'm new to this forum but have been on the incalabria one for over 2 years now.
The thing is, I've just read every post in this thread and the very last one mentions Bella Vista 2. Is there no one else buying on this development?
I agree with all the posts about Graimbrone Law & I.C as being totally useless and I think I would stand more chance of getting a reply to my e mails and phone calls from the Pope.
This development has turned into a nightmare. And now it seems that some of us can’t even find out where our 50% deposit is!
I have complained to the Law Society they make all the right noises but they seem to be like a lion with no teeth and no real deterrent. I started a thread on the incalabria site to find more buyers and in the last 4 weeks have now made contact with only 8 out of 54 units being sold on the plot. Is there anyone on this site buying at Bella Vista 2?

Thanks for letting me have my little rant, I feel much better now:)

Welcome to the forum and feel free to rant as much as you like.

In fact I think all the people on this thread have shown an enormous amount of restraint. I'd be wanting to give people the old concrete boots were I in the position that you all seem to be in.

Unfortunately I can't help but I do hope that all the problems get solved soon.

I've got an appartment/shed being built on the jewel of the sea complex in Brancaleone, somewhere austin1 knows quite well. I've sent the selling agents a rather snotty email because I'm fed up of all the mass hysteria that seems to be going on regarding almost every Calabrian resort and their lack of communication. As for the lawyers G&L, well the main reason for the snotty email to the agents is because it is pointless trying to send a message to them.

Hi Jonnyblade
At least you have something being built. We went out in October 06 and paid a 50% deposit in Jan 07 and they still havent stuck a shovel in the ground:curse:.
I think the main point of my post is that there seems to be very few people putting thier hands up and declaring that they have bought at Bella Vista 2. I also think that this development is a dead duck and will not be built. If this is the case, why am I struggling to get my money back?

I think the real question here is WTF did you lob out big money on an artists impression in the first place ?
I bet you wouldn`t of done it in the UK, so why do it in a foreign country ?

Sorry to hear of your problems sportmo. Is there a bankers guarantee? or has it expired like the one at Jewel of The Sea, We might have had some building work that has been completed but I bought my place because it had two things, it was close to the beach and it had a golf course, that's it, period. Calabrian law apparantly states that building work cannot be done closer than 250 metres to the sea, this if true creates a problem for the entire complex and many more like it. I don't believe the golf will ever happen meaning the rest of the towns amenities will have to do............mmmmmmm. I really wish I'd never got involved to be honest, and as nice as Calabria is I'm not fussed if I never see the place again.

JDR, I don't understand what you're talking about. Every appartment block that's gone up in our cities in the UK have been sold off plan.

True, but they all get built, you know the rules of the country and you speak the language, and the legal system works a lot quicker.
Did you get no guarantee for your payments ?
In Spain it is illegal to sell without a bank guarantee for the money taken as deposit in case the builder goes awol or suchlike.

There has never been a Bankers Guarentee and for the past 2 years I've been trying to sort it out. Enough said about G&L. I'm now forced to go through another lawyer and the LCS, to try to sort it out. Hindsight is such a wonderful thing and if I'd had it, it would be a different story.
