Yes - it is the document checklist page that I am looking at.

It would appear that the status is updated manually by a case officer as and when they are able/satisfied. I am using an agent for my process and have been told to not be concerned due to lack of updates to the page as it is a manual process and to be assured that it is being worked on at the correct time. I think that I read somewhere that one person had a visa grant before the web page was updated to reflect it.

I just wanted to say the news that the docs were marked as "met".

Does anyone know, once a state offers to sponsor you, how long have you got to accept it? Is there a time limit?

Jen - in the case of VIC i'm sure they stated the offer was valid for 6 months, although i'm sure I will be corrected if i'm wrong

Have you heard from VIC/NT yet?

My vic app was invalid as I never appeared on their list, but thought I'd chance my arm, not applied to any other state as yet...

Oh right, thought you'd applied to NT as well. Think when we last chatted you were still awaiting feedback from VIC. Sorry it didn't pan out. I was the same as you and applied for an off-list place

Nothing changed with me i'm afraid, am now at the stage of forgetting the whole thing and moving on with my life here, don't know if I can live in limbo for another 2 years, if reports that non MODL applications won't be processed till 2011 are to be believed. My instincts now tell me to make the best of things here, not an easy decision to come to after so much time and money 'wasted'... Don't know what to do for the best...

Some states (such as ACT) don't wait for you to accept - they send the relevant forms straight away to DIAC.

But officially I think it's 6 months

Hey everyone, I have recently changed my visa from a 175 to a 475. I was told the only difference would be that I have to stay in my chosen state until I get citizenship, is this correct? Also I lodged my visa in april and was given a SMT number. is this of any use because all the websites I go on ask for a different number.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I finally got my 475 SIR Visa on 1st July'09, awaiting for this news since a year... best of luck to all..

you may use the SMT number to correspond to your state. This is your file/client number to the state.
