STATE OR TERRITORY SPONSORED - Subclasses 885, 475 and 176


If you have obtained state or territory sponsorship your visa
application will be processed as a priority. However it can
take up to 2 months from the time sponsorship is approved until
it is registered on our system. Once registered on our system
your application will be allocated to a case officer for assessment
and once conducted they will make contact if they require additional
information or documentation.

I applied WA on 23 Jan. Accountant. got approval letter on 10th May.

Hi, forgive me for my vast ignorance. I've been seeing the quote from DIAC by some of the posters above pertaining to state-sponsored 176 applications where it says it can take "up to 2 months from the time sponsorship is approved until it is registered" on DIAC's system..."once registered on our system, your application will be allocated to a CO".

I know elsewhere DIAC has been saying CO's will be allocated within 10 days after state sponsorship is approved. Which is the real timeline here?

Both are real, you will have to wait about 2-3 months for state sponsership to be approved, after that a CO will be assigned to your case with 10 working days

Our 176 for NSW (Medical Scientist) was submitted last week & our lawyers have said to wait 3/4weeks for response - fingers crossed for us all

I am little worried about this news. Any one can tell if some one already have CO before converting subclass, then how long it will take for grant letter? Actually i have submitted all the docs on Feb and in march my file put on hold, fortunately i got SS from Vic and changed the visa subclass to 176 on 2.5,

Kindly suggest me wat shud i do now? Shud i send PLE ?

Well concern abt why CO is taking long to grant letter????? I have seen many applicants whose medicals were cleared they granted visas after 2 days of clearing medical report. Mine was cleared on 10.04. Already got the confirmation from DIAC that my subclass is changed.

You said that DIAC has confirmed yor subclass has changed on 2/5/09? Are all your other documents etc "met"?

In any case I'd give them at least 10 working days to have a look at your file, if there's still no change I'd send a PLE.

Yup DIAC has confirmed that my sponsorship has been received and approved, now the CO will assess my case as subclass 176 thats it. I am thinking to lodge PLE on this coming Monday lets hope for the best. Being an paperbased applicant i cannot check the status online, though i have only option to send PLE.
