Its when you are onshore but have applied for an offshore visa. They send you a letter to say they are ready to grant and you need to advise them when you will be offshore in order they can do so.

I really hope its final and can't be changed by new policy etc as we can't go for a few months!

Thats what is worrying me - if they change points etc then we could be stuffed again this time for good as main app now over 45.

I guess it is the time when the app is lodged, But if I were you I will go outside as soon and then notify so that they can take decision. As too many visa are being issued for this financial year, this is the best time , if all the sorrounding circumstances allow....

Hi All,

Brand new to this. Perhaps someone can help me with a quick query.

How long does it normally take to receive an initial acknowledgement of an online 176 application. Sent it earlier today but have not yet received any transaction number back so that I can start lodging documents etc.

Also does anyone know if there is a list somewhere of required documents for online 176.

Lastly, I know this is kind of a 'how long is a piece of string question'...but any rough sense of how long my application might take.

I am an Accountant, with projected 130 points with WA state sponsorship, from a low risk country (Ireland) with my application on the MODL?

Many thanks for any help/advice which more experienced members can offer

In theory, it takes 10 days to allocate to a CO. Although it has been taking longer recently, probably due to the volume of State Sponsored applications since the recent changes on the 16th March.

As for the acknowledgement, the online 175 was instantaneous and also went straight to the upload page. So I uploaded 90% of the documents then and there.

Ring your card company to see if the payment has been made on their system or highlighted for payment. This will mean that DIAC have received your application and are requesting payment. Your application is only considered lodged when they receive payment.

Online, there is a list of the docs you need to supply, but you will only be able to upload these if you have your application reference number.

For Victoria...I sent the application on 3rd of March....no reply..then few days back I sent one email to them asking the status..they came back with strage reply saying whether have I sent the employment offer letter with application...they thought I am onshore student...I replied I am offshore skilled applicant..then today they replied back and provided me the refernece no..and also said it will take 10 weeks to process it...don't know 10 days is from 3rd march or from today(26 march)
