I think everyone is just a bit frustrated that things are moving along for some and not others especially when some of the applications have been laying with a CO for months.
If I had to venture a guess, I would say that it's going to take some time (possibly the rest of this month) to get all the grants out for the visa's that piled up last month. When all that is out of the system then maybe things will get back to normal and the normal flow of processing will occur.
Also everyone seems to think that just because they had a positive assesment that there visa processing should flow easily. It may actually not, there may be issues with your work experience docs which requires them to actually do extra checks on them, there may be issues with your health (as in my case). There could be custody issues as far as kids go. Or you could simply have made a mistake on your application docs which is causing them grief, like a miss types passport number, etc.
So don't always assume OK everyone else's visa's only took 2 months to process so what's wrong with my case officer and it's all there fault.

Hey Imaxx, Nice meeting u my friend, i saw ur timelines there was just 6 days difference between mine file and ur file submission i lodged it on 19 Dec by paperbased, but unbelievably i got CO allocated on 25 Feb and u got CO in April, i think I was little lucky than u for having CO early than u, but being removed from CSL in March i was put on hold i had no option but changing it into SS 176 in May, M still under routine processing. Wats ur status ? Although we dont have option to check it online except PLE. I have few friends who are also waiting since 2007, One is July 2007, August 2007 and November 2007. We are not alone buddy.

thanks matey. i stuck it out with 175. my agent said since i am on CSL, i better wait since a CO has been allocated. In a call to DIAC in April (where we learned there was a CO assigned), we were just told to wait for the email from CO. nothing yet since then so i am still waiting...
wish you the same matey! for now

Hi Guys,
If u do happen to call DIAC next time (for whatever reason) then ask the operator to advise u when is ur file due to be picked up for futher processing.
There's a date assigned to each file. Infact, the operator on the phone told me about the date himself. I had no idea that there's something like this can be told to applicants.
Good luck all...

How long does it take for the medicals to finalise once they have been sent to OZ? Our medicals were sent to OZ on the 26th June 09, so they should have arrived there by now.
How long does it take for the Visa grant? We are on the 475 state sponsorship visa.

Ooh Briggs, you are not a new member to BE and honestly you know the answer to your questions. For new members however the answer is, the time varies a lot - it can take 2 weeks or it can take more than a year. No one on BE can tell you how long it will be in your case.Refer to the thread - health operations centre update for more information

the sense of humanity shown by some on this forum still amazes me
