Unhappy 457 processing times....

Hi all,

Can anyone advise on the present processing times for a 457 visa. My application was lodged on the 30th of March 2009 and i was advised by my agent that the sponsorship application was approved on the 8th of May 2009. Now the nomination and visa application are being processed. Anyone who has had their visa granted recently or anyone with any information please advise.

My agent had said that the whole process usually takes about 4-5 weeks, but just the sponsorship approval has taken 6 weeks.

Very worried!

Thanks for your reply. Did you hear about the results of the sponsorship, nomination and visa applications separately or all at once?

The agent advised that the sponsorship application is the most complex hurdle, whereas the nomination application is not as complex as the former.

And as its still early in the day on July 1st I think you are being a bit premature.

People can put their timelines in their signatures.

Historically, hundreds of visas are issued on the first day of new fiscal year.
Also, your PR visa can be an auto generated email just like bridging visas for onshore applicants...

Yes, seeing quite a few visa's comming through today.

Just hang in there, don't get to excited, it may take them a few days or a week or two to get through all the approvals . I'm just happy the CSL and MODL did'nt change, that should be a big relief to many people hoping that they don't get kicked of the CSL list especially .

Yaa... seen many applicant have received their visa by 1 day of 2009-10.

I am experiencing my online statue can't access.... It displays the message "This service is temporary not available, please try again later"

That means they may be working on updating some applicant's statue....

Hope for the best..

wish all d best luch..

Mayur

Or it could just mean that everyone is signing on today to check there statusses and killing the website . Out of personal experience they would'nt need to shutdown the entire website just to update the statuses, that would just be overkill.

I'd wait another two hours or so before checking again as by then it's the COB by them.

All documents seem Met.
Infact, I have had more than one COs. First one probably went on maternity leave, then second was working when processing of all applications was stopped due to changes in Jan 2009. Probably, my application is now with another CO since last two and half months or so... Can't really do much except
