Can you please tell me about the ASCO Code mentioned in your ACS Approval letter.
it is 2231-79 (C# specialist)
Also what is your specialization?
it is 2231-79 (C# specialist)
I have ACS Approval based on ASCO Code : 2231-79(.Net specialist) just like shafaqat has.

Which anzsco code matches to 2231-79(.NET Specialist) ?

261111 ICT Business Analyst (I think so but not sure)

Please advice.
Thanks..

Dear Oliman,

I made no speculation rather all I saw at DIAC. I try to convince you.

As new SOL applies to new applicants hence any one with a +ve or under process assessment for an old SOL occupation cant lodge an application with DIAC.

This way, anyone who has a +ve or under process assessment for an old SOL occupation has to find suitable occupation in new SOL and get re-assessed to apply with DIAC against some new SOL occupation.

So what is confusing and what is speculation?

Its hard to digest this fact but this is a fact any way. I am not saying those with an old SOL occupation have missed the boat, rather I am saying, to leave the old SOL discussion and prepare for the new one.

Please point out if you still think I was speculating or confusing.

Regards,

Fred, F.

Dear f4fred,

Thank you for explaining yourself. As far as I can see, you are using your own justification on considering skill assessment to be invalid which were done for old SOL occupations. You still don't have any official statement to support your comments.

What will actually happen in this situation will be further clarified by either DIAC or some registered agent.

261111 ANZCO also happens to be present in the newly announed SOL.

So does it means that me and others having 2231-79 ASCO in their skill assessment are in new SOL?

Also, what about skill assessment, would that be needed to be done again for new ANZCO?

Many thanks for reading and replying.

@Oliman,

This is very important, where did you see 261111 being equal to 2231-79 nec ?

Looks like 2232-79 are screwed !

I compared 261111 being equal to 2231-79 from following Excel file which is attached with this post.

And I found that file from following URL.

@Oliman,

FYI, I was the one who found out that link and posted it here on BE.

BUT the fact remains, it has 2231 mapped to 261111 but no 2231-79.

I think George Lombard's is right, there is more clarification on its way from DIAC reagarding ICT.

Cheers,

These are stressful times.. I could hardly sleep last night.. Just the thought of letting it all slip after so much hard work is just plain unacceptable...

But one must not loose hope.. Knowing that there are so many like me out here is really comforting.

Thanks BE,

Foha2012,

pay more attention and look again at the excel file under the sheet name "Table 1". At row 441, it has following entry.

261111 ICT Business Analyst 2231-79 p Computing Professionals nec

this entry exists under sheet name "Table 2" as well in the excel file.

@Oliman,

You are the man !. It is there, I can see it.. Its a partial match (p).

So what does that mean? I dont have to go to ACS again ?. would my current ACS assessment valid for this new code aswell ?.

I would appreciate if anyone can give me a factual answer.

There might be hope after all....

You seem to be panic Foha2012, just calm down and think positive.

About re-assessment question, I have send an email to ACS authorities for the clarification of skill assessment letter validity. I think they themselves rely on further clarification for DIAC. Till then, lets wait for some authentic news from DIAC or a registered agent.

Guys keep fingure crossed.

As its new SOL bumped out without MODL and CSL , why dont you guys debate about new MODL and CSL , did you guys ever find specialized category in old SOL no never but in MODL and CSL.

What about new MODL and CSL why it is not been published yet?

Re: Where does ASCO 2231-79 matches to newly annocuned SOL???

ASCO 2231-79 included per ASCO definition:

2231-79 Computing Professionals nec

This occupation group covers Computing Professionals not elsewhere classified.

Occupations in this group include:
Computer Analyst
Computer Scientist
Computing Tester
Database Analyst
Local Area Network (LAN) Controller

New ANZSCO codes are:

261111 ICT business analyst
261112 Systems analyst
261311 Analyst programmer
261312 Developer programmer
261313 Software engineer
263311 Telecommunications engineer

so therefore:

Computer Scientist most likely maps to 261313 Software Engineer
Computing Tester perhaps 261112
Computer Analyst and Database Analyst most likely to 261313
Local Area Network (LAN) Controller ?? perhaps 263311

So everyone relax, it is more in semantics than substance, most, if not all sub-occupations are still there.
