I have the same problem with my car! I'm hoping it will just get through one more MOT (sept). Latest problem is the cable has snapped to the speedo so I have no idea how fast I am going and my milometer is static!!! oops! Need to get it sorted asap.

Just out of interest, is there anyone else out there who applied in March and is not on the MODL. I know we have a very long wait still ahead of us and was wondering who else was still at the bottom of the pile with us.

Hi we are on a 137 STNI for south Australia.I think ours is priority about 4-5 months waiting time for a co.We have front loaded everything and just waiting for the email to say we have got it.(unless they need more information)

Am going mad waiting.....

We are on the 136 non MODL. Got our TRA done at the end of last year and accepted. Application lodged at beginning of March 06 and acknowledged 20/03/06. Not frontloaded PCC/Meds at the guidance of migration company and not heard anything. Just checked out this link and feel deflated and left behind. Email from migration company is that it is now taking 6 months for Med/PCC requests. I am driving my partner mad as I feel obsessed with getting there......

Want to frontload but migration company have advised against it. Feel I am stuck between a rock and a hard place!!

Join the club. Everyone is near insane here anyway, from all the waiting


I may sound like a broken record but Non MODLs has always taken around 7 to 9 months or so before a CO is allocated. There are MODLs here still waiting for COs after the usual 4 months


DIMA is only now allocating COs for non-priority applicants ?(ie non-MODL) who applied in mid-November.

You can get the update from DIMA every Tuesday by sending a blank email to [email protected]

Typically, frontloading only reduce the waiting time from 2 weeks to 1 month. Doesn't always shorten the COs allocation time.

There are exceptional cases of people getting CO earlier due to frontloading but that's the exception not the norm.

However, frontloading affects your first entry date. You'd have to enter Australia the earlier of your PCC or Meds date.

If entry date does not concern you, no reason why you can't start applying for your PCCs next month or even now. It will take around 40 days to get it.

This will shorten you wait time when the request eventually comes in.


I didn't frontload meds and so, can't comment much. Took us only 1 week and a half to get our meds done and to reach LCU. DIMA had it for only two working days and gave us the VISA on the third day!


The good news is, it is likely that the speed of processing picks up from the end of July as those COs who are off on holidays now will be getting back to work.

We have been reading this post with interest of all the happenings. I have tried a few times to add myself to the list and then chickened out in case I ruined everything so please could some one with better IT skills than moi help out. Our timeline is: 27 petelisam (136 Skill Ind) 07/04/06 not frontloading.

We are hopefully heading to Brisbane as husband is a carpenter. Don't know exactly where but more likely north of Brisbane. Looking for good schools etc.

Fingers crossed for more visa grants this week.
