Thanks Lynne and all other well wishers,

Feel like I'm at the top of a roller-coaster looking down the big drop at the moment!! Bit scary when you stop to think about it...

We have been looking at flights for the first week in September flying Birmingham to Perth. Damian would be off tomorrow given half a chance but we have holidays booked for August and a few DIY jobs to get done before we put our house up for rental so he will have to wait. Also got to go and visit his family in Ireland and say our goodbyes yet, so its going to be a busy few months.

Got to make the phone calls to parents later which won't be fun. Have told them all our plans but hearing it confirmed may be a bit of a shock.... there will be tears before bedtime!!

We are heading to Perth where my Damian has some family, not looking to buy property straight away as I am not yet 100% convinced that I will be able to settle (leaving behind a large and fairly close family). Not that I doubt for a minute that Perth isn't a fantastic place, Damian loved it when he lived there 15 years ago but its more likely to be whats not there that will bother me the most ie family and friends.

We are treating the next year as a very long "reckie" and hope that by the end of it we will have a better idea of whether we want to make the move permanent. If we do then we sell up in the UK and if not we come home and take up where we left off having had a really great 12 month experience which I'm sure we will never forget.

We have 3 kids 11 / 9 / 7 who are all very excited about the move. Bit sad to be leaving our dog behind but we have found a good home for her for the year and we will see about bringing her over if we sell up.

Damian is a Gas engineer by trade which is a bit of a worry when it comes to finding work in Oz. Latest reports we have heard are that the trade registration is taking up to 3 months to come through so it may be that he has to find a new career. Shouldn't matter too much if we can let our house out, as we should get some income off that which will help.

Anyway thats our story, bit long winded but you did ask...

Hi Lynne

When you got your grant letter did it come through the post, I'm a bit confused as we only got an email from our case officer and I could'nt find any region stated on it. Also CONGRATULATIONS to those guys who have got their VISAS. They are coming through thick and fast, I miss a few days on the expats and Im gobsmacked at how fast things are going.

Has anyone got their visas with just their meds sent and awaiting PCC's.

I have been deleting a lot of bulk email, I hope they have'nt sent me an email and I have deleted it. What am I like.

Thanks for the quick reply, gather your not watching the football like me. Just had a look at our email we got from our Co, there isn't any number or anything, not sure what that means anyway when we send off our PCCs I will email and ask him. I hope he won't mind, he seems a nice person.

No I'm not watching the footie. I must be one of the lucky few who's OH DON'T like football. Both motorsport freaks!!!!
The letter must be different to the grant letter but I don't think your CO would mind at all if you asked the question. To be honest I really don't think it makes that much difference but don't quote me on that.
