Hi,

I am a 175 applicant, application date 7th April 2012. I have not received my medical or PCC. I contacted the immigration office/my CO and she is saying my application is undergoing security checks. Is anyone experiencing such delays. what does it mean? It has been 22 months which is more than the processing time against my category.

Every case is different - if yours is still in security checks then that's where it is. Your CO will let you know when you need to do medical and PCC.

You are from a high risk country, security checks can take many months and can cause an increase to the standard processing time - that time is down to how long it takes your country to reply and is out of the hands of DIBP.

Why so much disparity in timelines between Medical & PCC and Visa Grant?

Assuming all online applications, why some get the grant in days, others in months?

Because every application is individual.

Some pccs need follow ups, so do some medicals. Sometimes security checks are not completed until months later. Some visas have quotas too, and only a certain number can be gratned each month.
