Hi Breezer,

I put in my application for a 885 about two months back and frontloaded all documents. I dont think you need to worry about your medicals going out of date since they mentioned a time frame of between 4 and 8 months for a decision if your occupation is on the CSL.

Thanks ydes,

Well, I loaded all my docs this weekend, I am just waiting now to find out how I upload the doc's that my sister who is sponsoring me has completed. They say that she needs to complete her sponsorship online too, but I have yet to find out where to upload these doc's to. I have emailed IMMI in Brisbane to ask for direction, but not heard back yet.

Oh, my occupation is NOT on the CSL, its just on the SOL list.

At least I now have a bridging visa, so if nothing else I can remain until they determine if I can get PR.

Thanks for the reply.

I think u miss translated the post somehow. the applicant may have been assigned a case officer before 2009 since he is 175 applicant not 136 or 137.

Hmmm...May be the case, but i dont think so...as all the applicants are so eager to know their application status. He must have enquired about his status after 2009 also otherwise howcome he has mentioned that it " seem like they are also processing files after 1st Sep 2007.".......

Anyway ...always think positive...and hopes for the best !!! Are you an Accountant or IT Professional..???

Well, for someone who has been waiting a whole year it's very furstrating to check his status and email DIAC every now and then.
It's true that one should think positive and hope for the best, but since the response from DIAC came only 5 days after their auto-reply email on 9th Feb which stated that pre Sep 2007 applicants are going to be processed till 20th March 2009, I would highly doubt that they start processing CSL by that date or sooner. I wish I am wrong.
and No, I'm a Civil engineer.

Last days I enquired the status of my application..DIAC reply me as follows:-
Can anyone Tell How far is my visa Now

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship recognises that the time
taken to process your application may be causing you and your family
concern.

At present your application is undergoing checks which are part of the
routine processing of visa applications. Unfortunately, ensuring all the
legal requirements are met in relation to an application can take some
time. In particular, it can take several months to gain any necessary
health, character and national security or other checks or clearances from
other agencies.

The case officer is following up on the status of your case on a regular
basis to ensure it is being processed as soon as practicable. You will
be contacted if we require more information when they proceed with
processing your application.

We appreciate your patience in this matter.
